Senior User Research Manager

• Lead research across Core Banking, one of Monzo's largest product areas, and help shape the future of Personal Banking. • Work on the products millions of customers rely on daily, from current accounts, joint accounts, and accounts for kids and teens through to money management, budgeting, and paid subscriptions. • Take on both people leadership and strategic research leadership. • Manage managers, supporting roughly six to eight direct and indirect reports. • Influence company strategy and develop exceptional research leaders. • Help define Monzo's global research operating model as the business expands internationally. • Work from London, Cardiff, or fully remote within the UK, with ad hoc meetings in London.

• Have led senior researchers or research managers within a complex product organisation. • Shape and influence product strategy through research at both organisational and executive level. • Work across multiple product areas, bringing disparate customer insights into a coherent strategic narrative. • Navigate complex stakeholder environments where teams hold competing priorities, metrics, and timelines. • Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science leaders to influence roadmaps and business strategy. • Combine qualitative research with quantitative signals, product data, and market insights to develop strategic recommendations. • Build alignment across large organisations and land new ways of working with multidisciplinary teams. • Coach research leaders while maintaining a high quality bar across multiple teams. • Make thoughtful trade-offs between research depth, pace, and business impact.

• Have worked across both global and local markets during an international expansion. • Bring experience in financial services or another regulated consumer product. • Have defined a research operating model rather than working within an existing one. • Have partnered with executive leadership on strategic decisions backed by mixed-method evidence. • Use a preferred name to apply, as Monzo does not need full or birth names at application stage.

• Lead research across Core Banking while shaping a coherent Personal Banking research strategy spanning multiple product areas. • Partner closely with the Core Banking Leadership Team, Product Directors, Design leaders, and senior stakeholders across Wealth, Payments, Borrowing, and the European business. • Help define and land parts of the global research operating model, making sure teams work effectively across global and local markets. • Connect customer insights across collectives, identifying themes, opportunities, and gaps rather than viewing research through a single team. • Bring together existing research, product data, market insights, and quantitative evidence so leadership can make informed strategic decisions. • Manage managers and support approximately six to eight direct and indirect reports while holding a consistently high bar for research quality. • Create an environment where researchers balance methodological rigour with the speed needed to build great products.
