Frequently asked questions
Have more questions? Get in touch with Frederic, Co-Founder of WFH Jobs.
- What does visa sponsorship mean for remote jobs?
- It means the employer holds a UK sponsor licence and is willing to sponsor a Skilled Worker visa (or equivalent) so you can legally work for them from the UK. Even if the role is fully remote, you still need the right to work in the UK; sponsorship gives you that.
- How do you confirm that a company offers sponsorship?
- We look at the job listing, the company's careers page, and the UK Government's register of licensed sponsors. If sponsorship isn't mentioned or the company isn't on the register, we don't include it. If we're not sure, we leave it out.
- Can I work remotely from outside the UK on a Skilled Worker visa?
- In most cases, no. A Skilled Worker visa is tied to a job in the UK, so you need to be based in the UK. Some employers won't mind the odd trip or a few weeks working abroad, but you still need to be living in the UK. It's worth checking the specifics with your employer.
- Do all remote jobs on WFH Jobs offer visa sponsorship?
- No. Only the roles on this page are from employers we've confirmed will sponsor. Other listings on WFH Jobs might still be open to international applicants who already have the right to work in the UK, but don't assume sponsorship unless it's marked here.
