Technical Director

• Provide strategic and technical leadership across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business goals while fostering innovation and excellence. • Serve as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs, and senior stakeholders, leading discovery workshops and translating business objectives into technical strategies. • Define and communicate a clear technical vision, acting as the final authority in critical design and delivery decisions.

• Bring 15+ years of technical leadership experience, ideally within consulting, SaaS, or large-scale digital transformation projects. • Have deep expertise in software architecture, cloud platforms, and modern development practices. • Demonstrate a strong track record of guiding technical decisions on complex, high-impact projects. • Have experience leading pre-sales, discovery, and solution design discussions. • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders. • Bring a consultative mindset, able to align business needs with technical strategies. • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills to influence at all levels. • Have hands-on experience with AI, databases, distributed systems, and modern software engineering best practices. • Have experience leading and mentoring senior software development teams. • Show a passion for continuous learning, innovation, and professional excellence.

• Have previous experience working in a fully remote, globally distributed environment. • Bring background in financial oversight of technology projects. • Have experience contributing to open-source projects or technical thought leadership. • Have prior exposure to AI-driven solutions and emerging technologies.

• Define and communicate a clear technical vision, ensuring best practices in architecture, software development, and emerging technologies. • Act as the final authority in critical design and delivery decisions. • Serve as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs, and senior stakeholders, leading discovery workshops and developing tailored solution proposals. • Oversee technical execution, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability across projects. • Monitor project health, identify risks, and ensure successful outcomes through proactive leadership. • Work with resourcing teams to ensure the right talent is staffed on projects and foster a culture of excellence, mentorship, and innovation. • Manage project burn-down, optimise resource allocation, and identify revenue growth opportunities while maintaining financial accountability. • Stay ahead of industry trends, contribute to open-source projects, and engage in public speaking, blog writing, and mentorship. • Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and sustainability initiatives within Nearform.
