About the role

💼 What you will do

• Build a career in finance with around a year of experience behind you, reporting to the Finance Lead. • Work directly with experienced professionals who have built finance functions in fast-growing startups. • Gain hands-on experience across all areas of finance operations. • Get sponsored through your ACCA qualification, with a structured pathway to becoming a well-rounded finance professional. • Take real ownership of your work and use AI and tech to make things better and faster. • Own a real part of the finance function from day one, with room to grow into management accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations. • Work hybrid with two core office days from London Bridge. • Submit a short 2 to 3 minute video introducing yourself and explaining why you want to start your career in finance, alongside your application.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring around a year in a finance or finance-adjacent role such as AR, AP, bookkeeping, credit control, a placement, or an internship. • Bring a genuine interest in building a career in finance and developing expertise across finance operations. • Stay eager to learn, building your knowledge from the ground up alongside experienced colleagues. • Communicate clearly and professionally with both internal teams and external partners. • Work meticulously with high attention to detail, managing multiple tasks and prioritising what matters. • Solve problems proactively, spotting inefficiencies and taking initiative before seeking help. • Take ownership of your work, seeing problems through to completion rather than passing them off. • Stay comfortable with repetitive tasks while thinking about how to improve or automate them. • Want to get good at chasing overdue invoices, as it is the biggest part of this role. • Work happily without perfect structure, in an environment where systems are still changing.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring experience with collections management systems such as Chaser. • Bring experience supporting VAT returns and month-end close activities. • Bring experience automating manual finance workflows using AI or other tools. • Bring experience working in a fast-growing startup where processes are still being built. • Apply even if you do not match the description perfectly, as Lottie is looking for potential and the right attitude rather than a perfect CV. • Let Lottie know if you need reasonable accommodations during the application or interview process.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own the accounts receivable collection process end to end, driving continuous improvement on DSO and past due aging. • Work directly with partners and cross-functional teams to resolve payment issues, and own and optimise the Chaser collections system. • Handle daily finance admin such as the inbox and issuing credit notes. • Onboard partners to Lottie’s systems for accurate billing and support VAT returns. • Process invoices, review them for policy compliance, oversee the approval workflow, and maintain proper controls. • Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, post journal entries, and keep records accurate for a timely month-end close. • Protect the three-day close as the company grows by spotting bottlenecks, tightening reconciliations, and automating manual work. • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls, recommending automation solutions using technology and AI tools. • Assist with ad-hoc finance projects, reports, and analysis as needed.

About Lottie

📊 Lottie at a glance

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

Lottie is solving one of the UK's most pressing social challenges: helping families navigate the stressful, confusing process of finding later life care. Founded by two brothers out of their own frustrating experience, Lottie has grown from a half-broken website launched to meet an investor deadline into the UK's highest-rated care-finding service, backed by Accel and General Catalyst, early backers of companies like Airbnb, Meta, and Spotify. The company has raised more than £25 million, reached 10 million users, and now has a team of 70+ people. Glassdoor tells a remarkable story: 4.9/5 from 27 reviews, with 100% of employees recommending it to a friend. Reviewers consistently highlight the team's kindness, mission-driven culture, and clear career progression. Lottie also offers genuinely good benefits for a startup: private healthcare via Bupa, EMI share options, a 3-night digital detox through Unplugged, 26 days holiday (increasing with tenure), and work-from-anywhere for up to 3 weeks per year. The main thing to be aware of is that this is a fast-paced startup environment with ambitious targets, which some reviewers note is not for everyone. But if you want to do meaningful work that directly helps families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, while working alongside genuinely kind and talented people, Lottie is a brilliant place to do that.

😃 What Lottie offers

• Earn £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience and seniority. • Receive a very generous EMI share offering. • Take 26 days holiday plus bank holidays. • Get sponsored through your ACCA qualification. • Work hybrid with two core office days at London Bridge. • Join a Series A startup backed by Accel and General Catalyst that has raised over £25m. • Work somewhere recognised by Deloitte Fast 50, LinkedIn Top Startups, The Sunday Times Tech 2026, and Startups 100. • Receive constructive feedback and a debrief call if you are unsuccessful after the case study stage.

💖 What makes Lottie unique

Founded with a mission to build the care sector of the future, Lottie is creating the AI operating system for social care, designed to unlock profitability for care providers and make finding care as easy as booking a holiday. Launched in London in July 2021, it has raised over £25m from tier 1 venture capital funds including Accel and General Catalyst and is widely recognised as one of Europe’s fastest growing tech companies. It offers four core products: the Lottie marketplace, Found by Lottie, Seniorcare by Lottie, and Eliza by Lottie.
