• Join as Synthesia's first full-time UX researcher, shaping how the research function itself takes form as the company moves from a single product to a multi-product platform.
• Own research end-to-end across the product portfolio, including a new real-time agentic product where the team is figuring out an entirely new modality as they build it.
• Influence how PMs, designers, and leadership frame problems — this role has a real thought leadership and change management element.
• Work hybrid from Synthesia's London office near Great Portland Street Station.
📋 Job Requirements
• Have significant experience as a UX or product researcher, ideally including time as the only researcher on a team.
• Bring a strong qualitative toolkit across strategic and evaluative research, with the ability to build and run your own surveys when needed.
• Have experience with, or a strong instinct for, research operations — especially participant recruiting and panel building.
• Be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and shaping the direction of a team, not just its outputs.
• Take a pragmatic view of AI in research practice — use it where it earns its place without being precious about tooling.
• Understand the inherent usability and product challenges found in AI-native products.
• Hold your own with executives — be direct, form views, and bring people along with clear thinking rather than volume of output.
🌟 Nice-to-have
• Have B2B SaaS research experience, particularly navigating the delicate parts of recruiting customers without stepping on Sales relationships.
• Bring experience running research on real-time, agentic, or AI-powered product experiences.
• Have prior experience coaching designers and PMs on lightweight research practice.
• Bring experience partnering closely with product data or analytics teams to combine qualitative depth with quantitative work.
• Have experience presenting findings to executives and shaping decisions at the top of the company.
🎯 Responsibilities
• Run a combination of strategic and tactical qualitative research across the product portfolio, from generative discovery through evaluative studies on live product experiences.
• Hold a macro view of where research can create the most leverage, moving fluidly between product areas based on where your expertise is most needed.
• Build out a participant panel and research operations practices so recruiting stops being a bottleneck, and shape the light research operations needed as the company scales.
• Influence how PMs, designers, and leadership frame problems, bringing thought leadership and change management alongside pure execution.
• Partner closely with the Product Data team, bringing qualitative depth alongside their quantitative work to form the insight backbone that feeds into product and executive decisions.
• Present findings to executives and shape decisions at the top of the company.
• Coach designers and PMs on lightweight research practice where it's the right call.
