💼 What you will do
• Join the Group Statutory Reporting team in a senior role instrumental in meeting statutory reporting requirements as the Starling Group expands internationally and considers an IPO. • Own reporting for the consolidated Group accounts and solo accounts of Starling Bank Limited, the global SaaS business Engine by Starling, and other subsidiaries and branches. • Gain exposure to a wide range of opportunities on an unrivalled growth path as the Group charters into new territories and expands product ranges.
📋 Job Requirements
• Be a Big-4 qualified chartered accountant with at least 10 years PQE in a listed, multinational financial firm in similar roles. • Have had a hands-on role in leading an IFRS consolidation and audit in a large international group, preferably banking. • Have proven expertise in the practical application of complex accounting standards, particularly IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) and IFRS 2 (Share-Based Payments). • Have advanced proficiency with financial tools including Microsoft Excel, Oracle NetSuite, and statutory reporting systems such as W-Desk Workiva. • Have extensive experience writing technical papers for Executive Committees. • Demonstrate excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of influence at senior levels and holding technical challenges from auditors. • Have a can-do attitude, belief in the vision, and willingness to roll up your sleeves wherever required.

• Have some exposure to IFRS 15 and SaaS revenue models. • Have experience presenting at Executive Committees. • Have exposure to an IPO process.
🎯 Responsibilities
• Own the timely and accurate preparation of the complex, multinational Group consolidation, ensuring compliance with IFRS. • Manage the end-to-end production of certain of the Group Annual Report and Accounts and interim reports, coordinating all stakeholders and ensuring alignment with listed entity type best practices. • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for external auditors, managing the group audit process to ensure a smooth and efficient close. • Act as the key technical expert for Group expansion as well as specific areas including IFRS 9, IFRS 15, providing guidance on complex SaaS revenue streams and owning the accounting under IFRS 2 for all group-wide share-based payment schemes. • Develop, implement, and maintain group accounting policies, driving the adoption of best practices suitable for a listed entity. • Proactively identify and implement improvements to the financial reporting process while mentoring and developing other team members for readiness for a listed reporting environment.
