About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Spotify’s Personalization team as Principal Product Manager for Search, based in London or Stockholm. • Set the product strategy for how hundreds of millions of users find content on Spotify. • Own search results end to end, from ranking and relevance to AI features such as semantic search and AI Overviews. • Lead two Search squads covering results ranking and query suggestions. • Work at the intersection of search systems, AI and user experience. • Enjoy flexible hybrid working, with some in-person meetings.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring 8+ years of product management experience. • Show 3+ years leading search, discovery or information retrieval products at a scale of 100M+ users. • Understand search systems deeply, including ranking, retrieval, evaluation and the trade-offs between relevance, latency and cost. • Bring experience with AI-powered search features such as semantic search or LLM reranking. • Lead a team through the move from traditional to AI-native search. • Manage complex stakeholder landscapes and build principled prioritisation frameworks. • Set a coherent vision across many initiatives and communicate it clearly to executives. • Mentor early-career PMs and influence without authority.

• Know music, audio or media technology and the dynamics of content-rich platforms. • Bring experience running search as a platform serving multiple internal teams or content verticals. • Show experience in content integrity, trust and safety or regulatory compliance for search or discovery.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Set the strategy and multi-cycle roadmap for Search Personalization, covering ranking, retrieval, AI features, quality and trust. • Drive Search towards AI-native experiences such as AI Overviews, semantic search and LLM reranking. • Balance innovation speed with quality and cost discipline. • Define a holistic quality framework linking relevance, trust, compliance and user experience. • Build prioritisation frameworks for Search as a surface shared by many company strategies. • Represent Search at executive forums. • Coach junior PMs working in Search. • Make architecture decisions with engineering leadership that protect long-term infrastructure health.
