💼 What you will do

• Join Monzo’s new Controls Product & Enablement team as Senior Controls Product Manager. • Treat risk controls as an internal product that helps teams ship fast and safely. • Act as Product Lead for Monzo’s core risk lifecycles, from issues and RCSAs to policy and regulatory traceability. • Build tools yourself, from low-code prototypes and AI integrations to automated workflows. • Lead two data and automation specialists in a newly formed team. • Earn £85,000–£115,000 plus incentives, working remotely from anywhere in the UK.

📋 Job Requirements

• Think like a product manager, focusing on user problems, prioritisation and shipping MVPs. • Build prototypes yourself with SQL, Python, APIs, workflow tools or low-code platforms. • Experiment actively with AI and LLMs to automate manual tasks. • Understand core risk concepts such as control design, RCSAs and issue management. • Thrive in ambiguity and work from first principles in a fast-paced environment. • Bring experience leading teams through change programmes. • Take stakeholders on the journey with a hands-on, supportive approach. • Be based in the UK.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring experience in financial services controls functions. • Use tools such as SmartSuite, Zango or Looker. • Show experience building custom AI agents or automated evidence-gathering tools. • Bring experience designing real-time risk monitoring.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy and backlog for Monzo’s internal risk products. • Replace manual cycles with data-driven platforms using SmartSuite, Zango, Looker and AI. • Prototype and build automated workflows, API integrations and low-code solutions. • Take ideas from problem statement to working MVP before scaling with Engineering. • Champion AI adoption across the Controls discipline. • Shift from annual assessments to continuous monitoring with real-time data triggers. • Drive adoption through clear guidance, intuitive workflows and self-serve enablement. • Lead two direct reports and keep senior stakeholders engaged.
