💼 What you will do

• Join Revolut’s UK Bank as Chief Risk Officer, holding the SMF4 senior management function. • Take accountability for independent oversight of the bank’s risk management framework. • Ensure material risks are identified, measured, and managed effectively while enabling sustainable growth. • Report directly to the UK CEO and functionally to the Group Chief Risk Officer. • Sit as a key member of the UK Bank’s leadership team. • Act as the primary risk contact for the FCA and PRA. • Join a Risk function that operates across all functions, products, and regions and gets involved early in new initiatives. • Work remotely from the UK, or from the London office.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring 15+ years of experience in risk within regulated or digital banks. • Bring a background spanning both financial and non-financial risk. • Bring an understanding of core enterprise risk management topics. • Bring experience setting up and managing first or second-line risk functions. • Bring familiarity with technical risk. • Create and implement simple, elegant solutions within a short period. • Bring experience presenting to boards and risk committees. • Show a track record of engaging directly with the FCA and PRA. • Bring outstanding leadership skills.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Hold a degree in STEM or economics. • Bring experience from a top-tier consultancy, a first line of defence banking role, or a recognised startup. • Hold previous or existing SMF4 or equivalent approved person status. • Bring experience leading ICAAP and enterprise stress testing. • Bring experience building business continuity plans and assuring they stay current and tested. • Bring experience embedding controls into a fast-growing business rather than a mature one.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own the risk appetite framework and collaborate with the global Risk function. • Monitor adherence to risk appetite and escalate breaches. • Assist the local ExCo in identifying and assessing risks across current and proposed business activities, including products, relationships, and partnerships. • Provide independent assurance on key operational risks and partner across functions to close identified gaps. • Lead the ICAAP process and oversee enterprise stress testing. • Act as primary risk contact for the FCA and PRA. • Provide early warning, guidance, and advice on upstream and regulatory change, assessing implications and supporting implementation. • Support the development of robust business continuity plans and assure they stay current and tested. • Develop and monitor local risk registers, embedding agreed controls into the business. • Maintain an effective second line of defence while providing independent challenge to first-line management. • Review outstanding risk issues from internal and external audits, reviews, and regulator inspections.
