Technical Account Manager

Posted on 2 September 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join the Product-Led Sales East team and take on an existing book of engaged, high-paying customers spending $20k+ a year with big expansion potential. • Own the commercial and relationship depth on each account while your CSM partner brings the technical depth, so the pair feel like an extension of the customer’s team. • Turn a single champion in one team into relationships across product, engineering, data, platform, and leadership. • Drive multi-product adoption as customers organically pick up two, three, or four PostHog tools, without pushing anyone into tools they do not need. • Sell into directors, VPs, and execs so PostHog is in the room for platform decisions. • Stay focused on the biggest opportunities, with over 1,000 organizations signing up every week. • Sell new products as fast as PostHog builds them, owning the relationship long past the initial sale. • Earn a base salary plus commission, with the compensation calculator figure representing expected on-target earnings. • Work fully remote from EMEA within the GMT to GMT+2 timezone range.

📋 Job Requirements

• Build relationships fluidly across seniority levels, moving from an IC engineer to a 30-minute VP slot and leaving both feeling understood. • Hold your own with VP and C-level execs, speaking their business language and framing PostHog as a strategic platform decision rather than a point tool. • Demo any PostHog product confidently and articulate its value, including technical ones like feature flags and the data warehouse. • Answer basic product questions on the spot rather than going away to get back to them, and know when to pull your CSM in for deeper work. • Think in account strategy over 12 to 24 months rather than just the next deal. • Read the signs of which customers to focus on, prioritising ICP accounts with real expansion potential. • Grow and retain revenue, getting creative to engage customers you have never spoken to. • Say no to customers PostHog is not right for. • Stay hyper responsive, with as much customer communication as possible happening in Slack. • Build white-glove, one-to-one relationships rather than relying on email sequences. • Run customer meetings solo, occasionally bringing a product engineer along for something like a first customer on a new product.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring experience selling to or managing accounts with senior technical buyers such as VP Engineering, CTO, Head of Platform, or Head of Data. • Bring experience with developer tools, or specifically product analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, data warehouses, or data pipelines. • Own several customers in the $20k to $100k+ ARR range previously. • Show evidence of growing accounts through expansion and cross-sell rather than renewal alone. • Get energy from meeting new people inside a customer org and finding reasons to stay in touch. • Let PostHog know if you have a disability and anything would make the interview process better for you.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own an existing book of high-value customers end to end, from relationship to expansion. • Multi-thread across product, engineering, data, platform, and leadership so PostHog becomes the default answer for any new team. • Build relationships with directors, VPs, and execs, understand their goals, and position PostHog against them. • Accelerate multi-product adoption across the accounts you own. • Partner closely with a CSM to jointly own account strategy, trade off who leads which conversations, and present a single coordinated team. • Leave deep technical implementation work to your CSM partner, tagging in where it helps the commercial conversation. • Own customer feedback and get it to product teams directly, without bureaucracy in between. • Remove blockers stopping customers from using PostHog effectively. • Hit and exceed quarterly sales targets.

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

We have used PostHog's web analytics ourselves and genuinely loved the experience. The product is fast, thoughtfully designed, and surprisingly fun to use. PostHog is unlike most SaaS companies: their entire handbook is public, their codebase is open source, and they share revenue figures and board meeting notes with every team member. The company has raised $194M from investors, including Stripe, GV, and Y Combinator, reached a $1.4 billion valuation in 2025, and is targeting $100M in ARR by the end of 2026. They pay generously, benchmarking engineering salaries at the 90th percentile of San Francisco rates adjusted by location, with a fully public compensation calculator so you know your salary before you even apply. Employees on Glassdoor consistently highlight the flexible spending, genuine remote-first culture, and regular offsites, alongside a $1,500 quarterly budget for meeting up with colleagues anywhere in the world. Many team members are former founders, and the company is structured around small, autonomous teams that own their products end-to-end. If you are an engineer or builder who thrives on autonomy, ships fast, and wants to work on a product used by nearly 200,000 teams, PostHog is a rare opportunity.

PostHog makes products self-driving, acting as a co-pilot for teams and their AI agents across writing code, running analysis, diagnosing bugs, and rolling out changes.
