Consumer Underwriter

• Join Octopus Electric Vehicles, the electric car leasing company within Octopus Energy Group, in a full-time remote role across the UK. • Help build a growing in-house underwriting team. • Assess credit risk across business contract hire, salary sacrifice and consumer leasing products. • Help create new policies, processes and tech tools to assess credit risk quickly and accurately. • Support the goal of becoming an industry leader in fast credit decisions for business and consumer clients. • Work with best-in-class technology and datasets.

• Bring experience in a hands-on credit assessment and underwriting role. • Process and evaluate credit applications ranging from consumers to larger corporates. • Interpret credit application information, such as company accounts and KPIs. • Cover rotating weekends, currently around 1 weekend in 4, with time off in lieu. • Be based in the UK.

• Bring knowledge of credit policies. • Show familiarity with automated credit decisioning platforms such as Lending Metrics. • Bring experience in the automotive sector. • Show experience developing consumer credit scorecards.

• Manage the day-to-day credit and underwriting process. • Review and manage credit escalations and referrals. • Own underwriting decisions for clients outside the auto-underwriting process, up to an agreed limit. • Support the development of consumer scorecards, underwriting policy, processes and systems.
