About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Monzo’s Retail and Business Banking team as a Senior Financial Crime Investigator for the EU. • Investigate complex, high-risk anti-money laundering alerts on business and retail accounts. • Make high-risk business onboarding decisions and recommend Suspicious Transaction Reports. • Share financial crime expertise with operational teams across the business. • Start on 4 January 2027, working remotely from anywhere in the UK. • Earn £31,100–£39,350 plus a £2,500 multilingual premium and incentives.

📋 Job Requirements

• Speak and write fluent English and Spanish. • Bring strong experience in high-risk business banking screening or complex financial crime investigations. • Show experience making independent, risk-based financial crime decisions in a regulated firm. • Know the current UK and EU financial crime landscape and its risks. • Work one of the set shift patterns, either a core day shift with a 1-in-4 weekend rotation or a weekday late shift. • Commit to 8 weeks of Monday-to-Friday training from 9am to 5.30pm, with no time off during training. • Be based in the UK.

• Bring experience with EU anti-money laundering regulations. • Show experience writing Suspicious Activity or Transaction Reports. • Bring experience investigating fintech or digital banking accounts. • Speak additional European languages.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Investigate complex or high-risk anti-money laundering alerts on business and retail accounts. • Recommend Suspicious Transaction Reports for Monzo Bank EU. • Make business onboarding decisions in high-risk or complex cases. • Carry out ongoing due diligence on high-risk business accounts. • Provide financial crime expertise and support to other operational teams.
