About the role

💼 What you will do

• Set the market intelligence and product strategy for an individual product Collective at Monzo. • Work in a player/coach role, owning Product Marketing for a Collective end to end. • Join a discipline treated as global product-market fit rather than go-to-market, embedded in squads with PMs, Designers, and User Researchers. • Act as the voice of the market across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and future markets. • Partner closely with Integrated Marketing, who lead marketing strategy and execution, to bring propositions to customers. • Choose between three Collectives: Wealth, building the future of saving, investing, and retirement planning; MonzOS, the AI-powered intelligence layer behind personalisation, recommendations, search, and in-app discovery; or EU, building Monzo for millions of customers across Europe. • Work from the London office next to Liverpool Street on a hybrid basis, or remotely within the UK.

📋 Job Requirements

• Think beyond a single product, owning strategy across multiple products and categories where work spans squads and decisions carry business-wide implications. • Own the hardest calls in your domain, making high-stakes positioning and strategy decisions independently. • Be right often enough that Product and Marketing leadership seek your judgement. • Make difficult trade-offs between commercial needs, customer experience, and competitive urgency when the right answer isn't obvious. • Build consensus around difficult decisions and influence senior stakeholders across disciplines. • Create clarity out of ambiguity, so people look to you for guidance when the path forward is unclear. • Work as a player/coach, still doing the hardest strategic work yourself while coaching others through feedback, mentoring, and high standards.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring domain experience in wealth, savings, investments, or pensions if you are drawn to the Wealth Collective. • Bring experience with AI-powered personalisation, recommendations, or in-app discovery for the MonzOS Collective. • Have led market entry, competitor discovery, or localisation work for the EU Collective. • Have embedded AI into marketing workflows, tools, and playbooks. • Bring people management experience, since the manager track carries accountability for a small team. • Use a preferred name to apply, as Monzo does not need full or birth names at application stage.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own a one-year product marketing strategy for a complex, multi-product Collective, defining how Monzo wins across multiple categories over time. • Set the market intelligence agenda, deciding what needs understanding about customers, competitors, and the market. • Identify and size opportunities, building the frameworks other teams use to prioritise and respond. • Use market intelligence to shape product strategy across multiple areas, changing what gets built and in what order. • Sit alongside Product leadership, driving commercial outcomes through product differentiation. • Make sure every product starts with a customer problem, differentiated positioning, and a proposition worth talking about. • Decide when products launch, with what mechanic, and in what order, so launches add up to more than a run of releases. • Give Integrated Marketing a brief sharp enough that they never have to guess, then feed market signals back into the proposition. • Define what great looks like through high standards, coaching, feedback, and better systems, including embedding AI into how PMM works. • Take accountability for the development, performance, and careers of a small team on the manager track.
