Data Science Manager

• Join Monzo’s Data team as a Data Science Manager, working remotely from anywhere in the UK. • Lead a team of Data Scientists and other data professionals embedded in a product or business area. • Combine people leadership with strategic data leadership. • Partner with senior stakeholders to make data central to how Monzo builds products. • Use experimentation, causal inference, modelling and machine learning to shape strategy. • Earn £100,000–£130,000 plus performance-linked incentives.

• Bring significant experience managing and developing Data Scientists. • Use data as a strategic leader to influence decisions and direction. • Partner with senior and executive stakeholders across functions. • Work autonomously in a fast-growing, evolving organisation. • Understand experimentation, causal inference, statistical analysis and machine learning. • Work confidently with Python and SQL and choose the right analytical approach. • Build credibility and influence without relying on authority. • Bring strong product judgement and use data science to shape product strategy. • Balance technical excellence with pragmatic, business-focused decisions. • Be based in the UK.

• Bring experience in fintech, banking or financial services. • Use Looker or similar self-serve analytics tools. • Show experience deploying machine learning models into production. • Bring experience building a data science function in a scaling company.

• Lead, develop and grow a team of Data Scientists and other data professionals. • Hire, coach and retain talented people. • Set the data science direction for your area and find the highest-impact opportunities. • Shape strategy and product direction with Product, Engineering and senior stakeholders. • Bring analytical rigour to complex problems and turn them into clear opportunities. • Make sure teams use the right methods, from experimentation to machine learning. • Connect data science work to measurable customer, product and commercial outcomes. • Work with Analytics Engineering and Machine Learning to provide the right data and tooling. • Help raise the bar across Monzo’s wider Data Science discipline.
