💼 What you will do

• Join Monzo’s Mobile Engineering discipline as a product-focused Android Engineer. • Build polished experiences in an app used by more than 15 million people. • Work in a small, autonomous squad with iOS, backend, design, research, product and data colleagues. • Own a company goal rather than a single feature, shaping both what you build and how. • Join a team of around 60 Android engineers from a wide range of backgrounds. • Earn £85,000–£110,000 plus share options, working remotely from anywhere in the UK.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring programming experience in Kotlin. • Show you’ve shipped and iterated on at least one app on the Play Store. • Focus on customer outcomes rather than lines of code. • Bring a product mindset and make data-informed decisions. • Turn excellent design into beautiful products. • Work comfortably in a team that deals with ambiguity. • Understand computer science principles. • Be based in the UK.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose. • Know MVVM, Coroutines and modular app architecture. • Show experience with UI, snapshot or Espresso testing. • Bring experience building fintech or banking apps.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Evolve Monzo’s native Android app with polished user experiences. • Balance well-tested, resilient code with moving fast and iterating. • Own a company goal with your squad and shape what gets built. • Write unit tests for ViewModels, Coordinators and logic classes. • Write and snapshot-test Compose screens. • Review code through GitHub pull requests. • Join weekly Android discipline meetings to improve tools and processes.
