Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, Strategic Accounts — EMEA

Posted on 22 July 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Monte Carlo as a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer for strategic EMEA accounts, helping Europe's largest enterprises deploy agents into production with trust, reliability, and observability. • Run technical sales cycles end to end — owning discovery, solution design, demos, POV execution, and technical close for strategic enterprise opportunities. • Sell into the agentic stack, helping customers observe, trust, and improve AI systems deployed on Databricks, Snowflake, and their own platforms. • Work hybrid from Monte Carlo's London office on a lean EMEA team with high-value accounts.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have hands-on experience with enterprise AI and agent deployments — having deployed agents in enterprise organisations or worked closely enough with teams that do to understand the architecture, failure modes, and operational reality. • Have fluency in AI observability concepts — traces, spans, evaluations, and instrumentation are working vocabulary, not buzzwords. • Have 3+ years in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or strategic technical account management within B2B AI-first companies and SaaS organisations, with meaningful experience in enterprise accounts. • Be equal parts technical and business-focused — able to whiteboard an agent architecture and hold a conversation with a VP of Data & AI about ROI and competitive positioning. • Be self-directed and accountable — prioritise your own time, know when to escalate, and know when to push back. • Communicate strongly across seniority levels, equally comfortable in a technical deep-dive with a platform engineer and presenting a business case to C-minus-1.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have experience with the modern data stack: Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, BigQuery, or similar, with data observability or data quality experience as a plus. • Bring experience growing existing enterprise accounts through expansion, upsell, or land-and-expand motions. • Have familiarity with MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, or similar sales qualification and value frameworks. • Bring experience selling into European enterprises across multiple countries and regulatory environments. • Have experience with OpenTelemetry, Databricks Genie, Snowflake Cortex, or similar enterprise AI platforms.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Run technical sales cycles end to end — own discovery, solution design, demos, POV execution, and technical close for opportunities within strategic EMEA enterprises. • Partner with Account Executives on commercial strategy while driving the technical win independently. • Help customers understand how to observe, trust, and improve AI systems — from the data pipelines feeding agents to the context they retrieve, the decisions they make, and the outputs they produce. • Design proofs of value with agreed success criteria, manage the evaluation, and deliver results that remove technical objections and accelerate the commercial close. • Identify and develop technical champions inside each account who will carry Monte Carlo into the next budget cycle, platform decision, or executive review. • Run briefings, workshops, and architecture reviews that position the platform as infrastructure. • Understand each customer's data and AI architecture deeply and bring that perspective to every account plan and QBR.
