Principal Product Designer

• Design for a product where quality is the competitive advantage, on a fully remote team of makers who care deeply about the feel of their work. • Bring robust design skills, sharp product thinking, and the ability to engage in technical discussions. • Work in small, autonomous project teams where engineers pair tightly with designers to explore ideas, build prototypes, deploy internal builds, and ship to customers. • Be a key element of projects from beginning to end. • Work remotely from anywhere in Europe, with optional co-working offices in San Francisco, New York, and London.

• Have 7+ years of experience designing software. • Bring the courage to ask questions, experiment, and advocate for what you feel is right. • Bring the humility to accept feedback, adapt your thinking, and iterate towards the best solution. • Have experience prototyping in Figma and beyond, with tools like AI, HTML/CSS, and Origami. • Distil problems and feedback, then design clear, focused solutions. • Communicate effectively in writing and in person, since much of the work is async.

• Have built or maintained a lightweight design system. • Have worked on developer tools or products aimed at engineering teams. • Have mentored other designers through critique of work-in-progress. • Have taken part in hiring and building out a design team.

• Pair closely with engineering and product to initiate and complete roadmap projects, with no hand-offs. • Spot opportunities to redesign or refine key screens and flows, along with smaller quality issues and paper cuts you notice while using Linear. • Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that communicate ideas and describe their execution. • Guide and inspire fellow designers through collaborative critique of work-in-progress. • Use and improve the lightweight design system components. • Help hire new teammates who can elevate the team and the product.
