Senior Staff UX Writer, International

• Join the International team, which makes Airbnb's products more local. • Deploy a deep and nuanced understanding of regional needs, cultural and linguistic norms, and regulatory environments to craft language and interfaces that resonate with local audiences. • Support the design of country-specific features for key markets including Italy, Germany, Spain, France, and the UK, working alongside the London-based team. • Collaborate with cross-regional partners including country managers, localisation experts, linguists and translators, researchers, product specialists, engineers, and data scientists. • Join a UX Writing team of 40+ writers, a core design discipline at Airbnb that works closely with Experience Design, Experience Research, and Design Program Management across the full product development process. • Be based in London or within easy commuting distance.

• Have 12+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, or content strategy. • Show a proven ability to lead content and copy work from concept through to detailed design. • Have experience working with localisation platforms or translation services. • Have worked with and presented to executive teams. • Have written content principles, messaging frameworks, and style guides. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at all stages of design and build. • Understand user experience design principles and interaction patterns solidly. • Work comfortably and independently in a fast-paced environment. • Move work forward in an ambiguous environment. • Work comfortably alongside other design disciplines in Figma, the primary collaboration tool. • Bring passion for Airbnb’s mission, commitment to diversity, and a global mindset.

• Have a background in global consumer tech companies or marketplaces. • Be bilingual in German, Spanish, French, or Italian. • Have established a writing function or standards for a newly forming team. • Have mentored or reviewed the work of other UX writers.

• Write clear and concise copy across multiple product touch-points. • Define and drive the UX Writing function within Global Markets, establishing workflows, partnerships, and standards for a newly forming team. • Review and mentor other UX writers. • Drive strategy and UX Writing deliverables across multiple highly complex projects. • Develop inspiring, strategic ideas based on product requirements, data, and research. • Consider which language and design patterns best serve the user experience. • Present content and design work to Design Directors, executives, and other stakeholders. • Drive consensus with stakeholders and partners on content recommendations. • Manage copy deadlines and deliver detailed copy across multiple projects. • Connect with critical cross-functional partners across accessibility, anti-discrimination, legal, localisation, and country management to get the right input on the work. • Partner closely with the central UX Writing team so Global Markets work stays aligned with shared standards, voice, and quality bar.

• Earn an annualised base salary between £126,000 and £158,000, dependent on training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. • Be eligible for bonus and equity. • Access company benefits. • Receive Employee Travel Credits.
