💼 What you will do

• Lead teams on Figma's Developer Tools, building for frontend and full stack developers who want to get products from idea to production faster. • Take charge of teams working across Dev Mode, MCP, Code Connect, and more. • Help define the future of Figma's developer offering, very likely incubating and leading new product development. • Work on a major Figma initiative that is spearheaded from the London office. • Combine design thinking, the latest AI developments, and open source developer tooling in one role. • Work full time from the London hub or remotely anywhere in the UK.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring 2+ years of experience managing software engineers building products used by external users. • Show a proven track record of building AI-powered products, as both a manager and an individual contributor, that are best in class on user experience. • Tie product and engineering work to clear business impact. • Demonstrate leadership in building a high-performing, highly engaged engineering team, including mentoring and growing senior engineers. • Build and operate fast-moving teams that balance innovation with execution. • Bring genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and how they apply to user-facing products. • Keep your camera on during video interviews and attend in-person onboarding if hired.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have built large scale systems using React, C++, and/or Ruby. • Have built and maintained open source software or libraries for developers. • Know generative AI, RAG, and the fine-tuning process, and how they apply to creative products. • Apply even if your experience does not line up perfectly, as Figma hires curious people who grow into the role.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Manage and support a team of product engineers building and expanding Figma's developer offerings, including Dev Mode, MCP, and Code Connect. • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate work across product, design, engineering, and other functions. • Define the strategy and roadmap for your team, then execute on it with autonomy, velocity, and craftsmanship. • Provide hands-on technical leadership to your teams and their collaborators to keep the product experience cohesive and the technical abstractions right. • Recruit, mentor, and retain high performing engineers, and help fill cross-functional roles too. • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and taking calculated risks. • Drive inclusion and diversity initiatives through hiring, community events, and other programmes run with teams across Figma.
