Manager, Software Engineering - AI Product

• Lead teams working across Dev Mode, MCP, Code Connect, and more on the Developer Tools team at Figma. • Help define the future of Figma's developer offering, likely incubating and leading new product development. • Developer Tools is a major initiative at Figma spearheaded from the London office, incorporating design thinking, the latest AI developments, and open source developer tooling. • This role can be held from the London hub or remotely in the UK.

• Have 2+ years of experience managing software engineers working on products used by external users. • Have a proven track record of building AI-powered products (both as a manager and individual contributor) that are best in class in user experience. • Have demonstrated ability to tie product and engineering work to clear business impact. • Have demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team, including mentoring and growing senior engineers. • Have strong ability to build and operate fast-moving teams that balance innovation with execution. • Have genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and their application to user-facing products.

• Have experience building large-scale systems using React, C++, and/or Ruby. • Have experience building and maintaining open source software and/or libraries for developers. • Have knowledge and experience in generative AI, RAG, the fine-tuning process, and its application to creative products.

• Manage and support a team of product engineers focused on building and expanding Figma's developer offerings, including Dev Mode, MCP, Code Connect, and more. • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate work across product, design, engineering, and other functions. • Define strategy and roadmap for your team and execute with a high degree of autonomy, velocity, and craftsmanship. • Provide hands-on technical leadership to your teams and collaborating teams to ensure a cohesive product experience and the right technical abstractions. • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers and help with other cross-functional roles. • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and taking calculated risks. • Play a role in building and driving inclusive and diverse team initiatives through hiring, community events, and other programmes.
