About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Datadog's high-growth organisation and world-class pre-sales team as Regional Manager, Sales Engineering. • Manage a team of talented Sales Engineers, helping them qualify and close opportunities. • Coach the team on delivering technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical evaluations (POCs). • Take the lead technical role in the region in this hands-on management position, supporting customer-facing activities and engagements for key accounts. • Build a strong partnership between the SE team and other organisations within Datadog, working from the London office as part of a hybrid workplace.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have 1-3+ years in a Sales Engineering team lead or mentorship role, plus 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or equivalent client-facing role. • Stay coachable, with a strong desire to grow professionally and a demonstrated ability to navigate change. • Show a proven ability to grow and develop a team. • Have recruited both individual contributors and front line leaders. • Know current infrastructure and monitoring solutions and technologies. • Build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer, and mentor others on how to do the same. • Communicate strongly in writing and in person, articulating both the business value and technical advantages of the offering while coaching others to do so. • Think strategically and creatively about a wide variety of challenges.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have led a pre-sales team at a SaaS or observability company. • Have run technical proofs of concept for enterprise accounts. • Have worked closely with Product Management, Support, and Enablement teams. • Have experience delivering formal performance reviews and individual development plans.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Partner with the Sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers. • Manage a team of leaders and individual contributors, making sure customers succeed pre-sale. • Support recruiting efforts to find and hire top talent in the region. • Mentor and coach new hires through onboarding so their skills and capabilities ramp properly. • Enable the team to support all required Datadog solutions alongside key technical and soft skills. • Develop a close working relationship with Product Management, Support, and Enablement to keep continuity between pre and post sales activities. • Deliver semi-annual performance reviews, and collaborate on and execute individual development plans.
