Posted on 18 July 2026New

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Work with Canva's acquired professional design products — Cavalry (motion design and animation), Affinity (professional photo, graphic design, and publishing), and Flourish (data visualisation) — representing the cutting edge of creative software. • Be the main driver for improving quality in your embedded team, tackling distinct quality challenges that come with deeply technical, professional-grade tools. • Drive the adoption of AI-powered approaches to evolve quality engineering practices across defect prevention, test intelligence, and product quality outcomes. • Work from Canva's London campus in Hoxton Square, Shoreditch, with flexibility to choose your own work balance.

📋 Job Requirements

• Be proactive, results-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment where you take initiative and drive outcomes. • Have experience working with product teams and defining the QA process for your team, including identifying opportunities for injecting quality and advocating for process changes. • Articulate technical concepts clearly and work effectively within a team, sharing knowledge and engaging with stakeholders across the engineering organisation. • Demonstrate experience building and maintaining robust test automation frameworks. • Have experience testing complex web apps, desktop apps, or both. • Be meticulous in your work and passionate about testing. • Have experience coaching and guiding team members with testing best practices. • Possess a solid grasp of test automation principles across different levels (unit, integration, E2E) and understand the challenges of building reliable, maintainable test suites and frameworks.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have experience with creative software, particularly concepts like animation and data visualisation. • Bring familiarity with test frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright. • Have experience with Machine Learning model testing or other emerging tech. • Have experience with accessibility testing. • Bring prior experience working on quality for acquired or integrated products within a larger platform.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Be the main driver for improving quality in your embedded team, working with key stakeholders to drive process, tooling, and testing changes. • Create the test strategy for your team's projects, with a focus on shift-left QA activities rather than just test execution. • Serve as the subject matter expert for your team's testing and product knowledge, driving knowledge sharing and documentation for software engineers and QA across teams. • Model initiative and ownership in achieving goals, improving processes and solutions for other QA engineers. • Work with other Senior QA engineers to define expectations and upskill other QA engineers. • Drive the adoption of AI-powered approaches to evolve quality engineering practices, improving defect prevention, test intelligence, and overall product quality outcomes.
