Senior Staff Software Engineer, Agentic Platform

• Lead the architecture of Tide’s agentic platform. • Shape the shared capabilities that let AI systems operate safely, reliably, and at scale across the business. • Cover context, orchestration, tool execution, trust controls, observability, and evaluation. • Participate in key build versus buy decisions, integrating external components where they accelerate progress. • Make sure Tide owns the parts that matter most for its trust, data advantage, and long-term platform leverage. • Help determine whether Tide ends up with isolated AI pilots or a reusable platform that compounds value across productivity, risk, and connectivity. • Work from London on a hybrid basis, with the role also open in Bulgaria, Serbia, and Lithuania. • Ship something to production in your first two weeks, as new joiners are encouraged to do.

• Bring deep experience building platform or infrastructure systems at scale. • Bring strong judgement across APIs, distributed systems, data, and cloud-native architecture. • Show a track record of leading complex cross-team technical problems. • Bring experience integrating third-party platforms without losing control of core architecture. • Bring a strong understanding of reliability, security, and observability. • Provide technical leadership across teams and unblock critical decisions. • Work comfortably in a strongly typed general purpose language, with the stack built on Java, Spring Boot, and JOOQ.

• Bring experience with AI platform components, which is valuable though not essential. • Bring experience in highly regulated industries such as fintech or healthtech where safety and compliance are core to the product. • Bring experience with event-driven architecture over SNS, SQS, and Kafka. • Know AWS well, including RDS, Aurora, EKS, Docker, and Terraform. • Bring experience implementing cost-management and routing logic across LLM providers. • Bring experience designing automated evaluation pipelines for model accuracy and safety.

• Define the architecture for Tide’s agentic platform. • Drive the design of shared services including context APIs, tool layers, policy controls, and auditability. • Partner with product, data, security, and engineering teams to turn use cases into reusable platform capabilities. • Set standards for reliability, safety, scalability, and developer experience. • Provide technical leadership across teams and unblock critical decisions. • Implement cost-management and routing logic that optimises LLM spend across providers. • Design and build automated evaluation pipelines that measure agent reasoning accuracy and safety trajectories.
