Posted on 18 July 2026New

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Lead localisation strategy for Canva's acquired products — Affinity, Flourish, Cavalry, and Leonardo — integrating them into Canva's localisation processes. • Ensure over 100 million monthly users creating designs in 110+ non-English languages get a delightful experience across Canva's full suite of professional design tools. • Sit within the International supergroup, collaborating with stakeholders across customer support, sales, AI features, and the core editing product. • Work from Canva's London campus in Hoxton Square, Shoreditch, with flexibility to choose your own work balance.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have deep expertise in localisation, including AI-driven approaches such as RAG, COMET, and BLEU, and quality frameworks like MQM. • Demonstrate proven experience delivering complex programmes of work across multiple products, balancing diverse stakeholders, timelines, and KPIs. • Understand LOTE user needs deeply, with a passion for going through user flows and listening to users first-hand. • Identify opportunities to improve user experience, ideally gained within a SaaS localisation or internationalisation environment. • Thrive in ambiguity — take complex, chaotic problems and communicate them briefly and simply through documents and visual communication. • Show high ownership and resilience, with the drive to see initiatives through despite shifting priorities. • Be comfortable with tech including Atlassian project management tools and basic web development, and write strong documentation.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Speak a European language in addition to English. • Have prior experience localising products from scratch, particularly integrating acquired products into an existing localisation ecosystem. • Bring hands-on experience curating and maintaining localisation datasets for evaluating AI and machine translation model performance. • Have familiarity with professional design tools such as Affinity, Flourish, Cavalry, or Leonardo. • Have experience working with engineering teams on technical localisation requirements across diverse content types.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Define and operationalise localisation strategies for newly acquired products, with an initial focus on Affinity and Flourish and potential expansion to Cavalry and Leonardo. • Align acquired products with Canva's localisation standards, workflows, and processes to ensure consistency and scalability. • Partner closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, including localising Flourish from scratch and managing diverse content types within Affinity. • Map user experience expectations into a localisation strategy that meets the needs of Pro users in LOTE. • Curate and maintain high-quality localisation datasets to evaluate and benchmark AI and machine translation model performance across languages and content types.
