Senior Product Manager, Payments

• Join WooCommerce Payments at Automattic as a senior, hands-on Product Manager. • Own a defined area of the payments products and partner integrations. • Work on payments running at serious scale, with billions in total payment volume. • Shape experiences that directly affect merchant revenue and shopper conversion. • Collaborate with the Head of Product, engineering, design, support and partnerships. • Earn $170,000–$240,000, paid in local currency.

• Bring 7+ years in product roles, including senior IC experience owning complex problem spaces. • Show 4+ years in payments or fintech, ideally on products operating at scale. • Make good product calls in messy situations without needing perfect information. • Work comfortably on critical, high-trust systems where small changes have outsized impact. • Work deeply with engineers and designers on technical constraints and tradeoffs. • Take a practical, analytical approach to metrics, dashboards and instrumentation. • Communicate clearly in writing and speech in a distributed, async environment.

• Bring experience with large or global product launches. • Know WooCommerce, WordPress or open source ecosystems. • Show experience working with payment partners such as Stripe or PayPal. • Bring hands-on experience with Linear and Figma.

• Own product direction and execution for a key part of the payments area, with clear goals and outcomes. • Improve onboarding, checkout, refunds, disputes, payouts and reporting for merchants and shoppers. • Reduce failures and friction, lower support volume and improve merchant trust. • Use data, support signals and merchant feedback to set priorities and success measures. • Improve integrations with partners such as Stripe and PayPal, managing dependencies and issues. • Write and refine issues in Linear, triage bugs and incidents, and shape flows in Figma. • Build lightweight prototypes and write briefs or PRDs when needed. • Keep stakeholders aligned on progress, risks and decisions.
