Senior Analyst (Data and Process Controls)

• Join Zopa, the UK digital bank that built the world’s first peer-to-peer lending company, in a permanent hybrid role in London. • Help build automated ways to find problems that affect customers and the bank, and stop them before they spread. • Move the bank away from manual controls towards scalable automated systems using analytics, automation and AI-enabled tooling. • Work in a new, highly visible area with strong backing from senior leadership. • Collaborate across Product, Analytics, Engineering and Risk to turn messy operational processes into automated solutions. • Start with lending products, including customer statements and related communications, with scope to expand into other areas.

• Hold a degree in a STEM or similar field, or bring equivalent experience. • Stay highly curious, with a strong instinct to dig into how systems, processes and data flows work. • Work comfortably in ambiguous environments where problems are not fully defined. • Apply strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills with a practical, structured approach. • Communicate well with stakeholders and ask good questions to challenge assumptions. • Show examples of taking ownership and driving work forward independently. • Bring exposure to SQL, Python or similar analytical tooling, or strong evidence that you learn quickly. • Get excited about using automation, AI and technology to solve real business problems. • Commute to the London office 2–3 days a week.

• Bring experience in operations, consulting, fintech or another fast-moving environment. • Show experience using AI tools to solve real problems while critically assessing their outputs. • Share personal projects, courses or other examples that demonstrate coding curiosity or technical learning.

• Speak to stakeholders across the business to understand processes that may not be fully documented. • Investigate how data moves through systems and decide what needs monitoring, validation or automation. • Build scalable automated solutions using SQL, Python and AI-enabled tools. • Contribute to AI tooling such as Zopa’s tool that identifies and protects vulnerable customers. • Partner with Product and Engineering to understand system architecture and support implementation. • Improve the quality, reliability and scalability of how operational issues are identified and prevented. • Shape a new capability by creating reusable approaches and patterns as the function grows.
