Senior Software Engineer II - Send Core

• Join the Send Core team providing the critical infrastructure that every sending transaction flows through — from £10 sent to a friend to a multi-million dollar business payment. • Work on a mission to make sending money as easy and fast as paying for groceries with your card. • Build customer-facing products that power the send journey while keeping core infrastructure in great shape, with your work impacting millions of people every day. • Work hybrid from Wise's London office.

• Have strong experience building complex high-reliability systems. • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and simply. • Have strong computer science fundamentals. • Focus on solving real customer problems with every change you make. • Have a clear understanding of why you are building what you are building and think in product terms, not just on the code level. • Be passionate about always learning and growing. • Get things done yourself instead of waiting to be told what to do.

• Have experience with Wise's technology stack or similar backend frameworks. • Bring frontend development experience alongside strong backend skills. • Have prior experience working on payments, money transfer, or financial infrastructure at scale. • Bring experience making architectural decisions for critical, high-throughput systems. • Have experience collaborating closely with product, design, and data teams on customer-facing products.

• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver the best experience for customers. • Own the systems that every sending transaction depends on across the entire platform. • Make architectural decisions for the core send components, making them resilient and performant. • Drive backend (80%) and frontend (20%) development for the team's products. • Explore ways to improve products and day-to-day work with curiosity and initiative.
