Senior Software Engineer II - Assets

• Join the Grow squad as a Senior Software Engineer II, helping the Wise Account become the world's primary financial hub — customers already earn over £50 million every month on their balances. • Work across two distinct phases: scaling a global success (Assets) or building a new frontier from scratch (Investments). • Handle high-concurrency systems where data integrity and consistency are absolute, whether architecting a high-availability Yield Engine managing billions in assets or defining the technical foundations for a brand-new brokerage. • Work hybrid from Wise's London office.

• Have a strong product mindset and passion for user experience, prioritising work with customers in mind and making data-driven decisions. • Communicate effectively and articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. • Break down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value. • Coordinate complex projects across different teams. • Have experience developing web applications and distributed systems in a production environment. • Have experience with common design and architectural patterns coupled with a passion for writing clean, performant, and well-tested code.

• Have knowledge of Java and Spring Boot. • Bring experience with a messaging system such as Kafka. • Have experience with financial products such as asset management, yield engines, or brokerage infrastructure. • Bring experience building high-availability systems managing custody, liquidity, or large-scale financial assets. • Have experience with zero-to-one product engineering, defining technical foundations from the ground up.

• Architect a high-availability Yield Engine that manages billions in assets while maintaining bankruptcy-protected custody and seamless, near-instant liquidity (Assets team). • Scale a product already live in the UK, EU, Singapore, and Australia. • Define the technical foundations, brokerage infrastructure, and trading interfaces from the ground up for individual stock investing and tax-beneficial money pots like ISAs and SIPPs (Investments team). • Work alongside PMs, Designers, and Analysts to decide what to build, not just how. • Handle high-concurrency systems where data integrity and consistency are absolute. • Shape the strategy and code for a brand-new pillar of the Wise ecosystem.
