Senior Fullstack Engineer - Servicing, FinCrime

Posted on 21 July 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Build the centralised platform that gives Wise deep visibility into customer financial crime risk, tying together all fincrime topologies into a unified view. • Work full stack — designing resilient backend microservices in Java (Spring Boot) and building intuitive frontends using React and TypeScript. • Directly impact how Wise scales its compliance operations, enabling the company to move with speed and confidence without compromising customer safety. • Work hybrid from Wise's London office.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have a strong engineering background in Java or other JVM languages. • Have experience building performant, responsive web applications using React and TypeScript/JavaScript. • Write clean, scalable, and testable code with understanding of test coverage best practices, the test pyramid concept, and the value of code reviews. • Have experience designing and implementing distributed, concurrent systems and understand the trade-offs between stateful/stateless and synchronous/asynchronous architectures. • Break down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver immediate customer value, with the customer at the heart of every decision. • Thrive in a collaborative environment and articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences or distributed cross-functional peers.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have prior experience building systems in the financial crime, compliance, or risk assessment domain. • Bring experience with microservices architecture using Spring Boot in a large-scale production environment. • Have experience building centralised platforms that aggregate data across multiple sources into unified views. • Bring experience working with Servicing or operations teams to build scalable, standardised workflows. • Have experience owning the full product journey from problem identification through to production deployment.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy resilient backend microservices in Java (Spring Boot) and build intuitive, accessible frontends using React and TypeScript. • Build the centralised tools that aggregate data across multiple fincrime topologies, giving teams full visibility into customer risk profiles. • Own and develop the common components of risk mitigation handling, ensuring Servicing Agents have scalable, standardised workflows. • Break down complex bottlenecks in servicing and compliance processes, delivering adaptable platform solutions that other Wise product teams can evolve to fit their specific needs. • Take full ownership of the product journey — from identifying a problem and empathising with stakeholders to creating an execution plan and shipping it to production.
