Posted on 21 July 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Wise's growing People Technology team as an Engineering Lead focused on the functional design, configuration, and optimisation of the global talent acquisition tech stack. • Own the functional health of talent acquisition domains, ensuring hiring tools evolve alongside the business — with a seat at the table evaluating new tech, piloting emerging tools, and deciding the future architecture of the recruitment tech stack. • Apply engineering principles and technical rigour to functional configuration, system logic, applicant workflows, and security design. • Work hybrid from Wise's London office.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have a strong background in HRIS or ATS configuration and administration, preferably SmartRecruiters and/or Workday Recruiting, with experience in end-to-end talent system implementations or major optimisation projects. • Be analytically minded with the ability to process recruitment datasets with high accuracy and use data to inform system configuration and workflow decisions. • Translate complex applicant workflows or technical logic into simple language for recruitment stakeholders and hiring managers. • Bring an egoless approach to work with a deep focus on candidate data security and confidentiality, and a commitment to high-quality testing and documentation. • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a varied workload against projected hiring timelines.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have experience configuring or managing adjacent People tools such as Peakon, Visier, Absorb, or background check integrations. • Hold Workday Core HCM/Recruiting certifications or expertise in secondary modules such as Talent Optimisation or Onboarding. • Have experience managing small to medium-sized system upgrades or tool rollouts using Jira and Confluence for tracking and documentation. • Have an interest in keeping up to date with market trends, AI in recruiting, and new features in the HR Tech ecosystem to apply them internally.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on configuration of Applicant Tracking Systems like SmartRecruiters, onboarding modules, automated scheduling tools, and Workday recruitment touchpoints, building complex hiring processes and custom validations. • Take responsibility for the reliability and performance of specific recruitment and talent acquisition tools, ensuring they have appropriate support, documentation, and logic. • Partner with Talent Acquisition leaders and hiring teams to design and implement technology solutions that optimise candidate experience, increase operational efficiency, and maintain compliance. • Manage and resolve complex technical support queries via Jira, identifying root causes in the recruitment pipeline and implementing long-term functional fixes. • Design and build advanced custom reports and talent dashboards to provide the business with critical insights into hiring metrics, pipeline health, and high-quality data. • Lead the evaluation of new recruitment technologies and integrations, collaborating on the long-term vision for the talent ecosystem and deciding which tools to adopt, sunset, or optimise.
