Software Engineer, Observability

• Join Vercel’s Observability team as a Software Engineer. • Build the products Vercel users rely on to monitor their applications’ health and behaviour. • Work on large-scale data ingestion, storage and processing from distributed systems. • Create visualisation tools that reveal how applications perform. • Integrate observability with popular frontend frameworks and build tools. • Work hybrid from London, or fully remotely if you live outside commuting distance.

• Bring 5+ years of relevant work experience. • Write JavaScript, TypeScript or Go proficiently. • Bring experience with modern frontend development tools. • Work efficiently with columnar databases such as ClickHouse or Tinybird. • Show experience processing large volumes of data with messaging or streaming systems. • Bring experience contributing to open source projects. • Know frontend frameworks and web performance profiling and optimisation. • Solve problems proactively and communicate well in a collaborative team.

• Bring experience building observability, monitoring or analytics products. • Know OpenTelemetry or other tracing standards. • Show experience with Next.js or Vercel. • Bring experience building data visualisations for developers.

• Handle large-scale data ingestion, storage and processing. • Build visualisation tools that give insight into application behaviour and performance. • Integrate observability with frontend tools, frameworks and build systems. • Write clean, efficient, well-tested and well-documented code. • Work with product managers, designers and infrastructure teams on complex challenges. • Contribute to open source projects and community discussions. • Gather developer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
