About the role
💼 What you will do
• Lead advertising efforts across the UK and Europe as the driving force behind ad buying strategy for both Tripadvisor and Viator, reporting to the Director of Paid & Owned Media. • Manage agency relationships, execute high-level media plans, and leverage AI and automation to ensure media buying is as efficient and impactful as possible. • Work hybrid with only 1–2 days per week in the London office, owning comprehensive paid media strategy across Social, Programmatic, Video, App, and more.
📋 Job Requirements
• Bring 7+ years of experience in paid media, digital advertising, or media planning and buying from agency or client side. • Hold a deep, nuanced understanding of the UK and European digital marketing ecosystems and regional consumer behaviours. • Demonstrate proven experience managing external marketing or media buying agencies with a focus on shared goals. • Have a strong background in managing complex, high-budget campaigns with a track record of agile execution and meeting or exceeding performance targets such as iROAS and LTV. • Show expert-level knowledge of major digital ad platforms including Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok, and programmatic DSPs with a proactive approach to adopting AI marketing technologies. • Hold exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate behavioural data into clear, actionable strategic improvements. • Demonstrate ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in day-to-day work.
🌟 Nice-to-have
• Bring experience in traditional or offline media buying such as OOH, TV, Radio, or Print within the European market. • Have previous experience in the travel, hospitality, or global marketplace sectors. • Show familiarity with advanced marketing attribution models and media mix modelling.
🎯 Responsibilities
• Develop, execute, and own the comprehensive paid media strategy for the UK and European markets, utilising behavioural data to build campaigns that prioritise traveller needs. • Manage day-to-day relationships with external media buying agencies, setting clear expectations and driving collaborative accountability. • Champion production efficiency by integrating AI tools, automated bidding strategies, and machine-learning solutions into media planning, creative testing, and campaign optimisation. • Allocate and manage regional media budgets, constantly experimenting and iterating to maximise ROI and efficient customer acquisition. • Lead campaign execution from ideation through launch, taking total ownership of media performance across Social, Programmatic, Video, App, and other channels. • Act as the internal subject matter expert on the UK and European media landscapes, advising cross-functional teams on regional nuances.
