• Work on Team Frontend owning tooling for the marketing/docs website and Studio, the core product used by millions of developers worldwide.
• Ship products from 0→1 and earn the next version from users, taking features from a blank editor to real users in production and iterating based on feedback.
• Own the quality pipeline in a world where AI agents write a large share of the code, building and tightening the layered checks that let the team move quickly without breaking things.
📋 Job Requirements
• Have a track record of taking a product from 0→1, having launched something real, put it in front of users, and iterated based on how they actually used it, ideally something you can point to.
• Have deep frontend fundamentals with strong React, TypeScript, and a real understanding of the modern landscape including SSR, streaming, server components, and edge.
• Have a genuine quality-and-tooling mindset, treating tests, types, and CI as tools that let you and AI agents move faster, with opinions about where a check should run and experience wiring up pipelines with tools like Vitest, Playwright, MSW, or equivalents.
• Be comfortable working with AI coding agents, reviewing what they produce, tightening the architecture where they overreach, and giving them guardrails to verify their own work.
• Have autonomy and strong async communication, managing your own time and communicating clearly in writing without someone assigning tickets.
🌟 Nice-to-have
• Have experience working in large open-source codebases that thousands of developers read and contribute to.
• Bring experience with visual regression testing, accessibility testing, and bundle-size budget enforcement in CI.
• Have experience building contract tests against APIs to ensure frontend-backend compatibility.
• Have experience with Next.js or similar SSR frameworks in a production developer-tools context.
🎯 Responsibilities
• Ship products from 0→1 and then earn the next version from users, launching features, watching real people use them, and improving based on support threads, usage data, and direct conversations.
• Own the quality pipeline by building and tightening layered checks including type safety at the boundaries, lint and format, unit and component tests, contract tests against APIs, accessibility, visual regression, and bundle-size budgets.
• Make sure a bug caught once is caught forever by adding the check that would have caught it at the cheapest stage possible so the same regression cannot happen twice.
• Work end-to-end and in the open across frontend UI, API contracts, preview deploys, and observability, operating autonomously across the stack in a public codebase.
