Runna

Director of Growth Product

Posted on 30 July 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Be a key member of the Runna Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Managing Director and taking ownership of one of Runna's four core product pillars. • Head up a cross-functional team of 8 and growing across three squads: Acquisition, Onboarding & Activation, and Monetisation, spanning engineering, product, and design. • Maximise Runna's unique relationship within the Strava Group, turning access to Strava's runners and ecosystem into a durable growth advantage.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have 10+ years of experience in product or growth product, with significant time spent leading teams and functions. • Have driven real growth outcomes in consumer subscription products across acquisition, onboarding, conversion, and retention with numbers to prove it. • Have owned complex domains across multiple teams, not just a single feature area, with a clear point of view on how subscription products price and package what they offer. • Know how to develop PMs, spot gaps in a team's capability, and build the conditions for high performance. • Operate comfortably at SLT level, raising the bar across an org, not just within your team. • Be at home working closely with engineering and data on technically complex, data-heavy products, and have been close enough to measurement stacks to know what good looks like. • Be exceptionally strong with data and run rigorous experiments, treating experimentation as a core operating discipline. • Have good product and UX instincts, knowing what a clean, high-converting user journey looks like. • Have worked closely with marketing teams across performance, lifecycle, and organic, knowing how to build genuine partnerships where product and marketing operate as one system. • Be based in London or able to come into the Vauxhall office regularly, ideally 3 days a week.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have a strong interest in fitness apps and the fitness space. • Have worked in React Native mobile application teams. • Have experience working on cross-product or cross-platform growth funnels such as app, web, and partner platforms like Strava. • Have experience with growth product in a post-acquisition or high-growth integration environment.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year vision for the Growth pillar and influence company-level product priorities, ensuring the Growth roadmap connects clearly to Runna's overarching business goals. • Drive the in-app experiences that turn first-time users into committed, paying runners including onboarding, activation, trial and paywall journey, free-to-paid conversion, and early-retention loops. • Work closely with the Director of Growth Marketing to create a tight, continuous loop between product and marketing so learnings directly inform decisions in both directions. • Stand up the technical foundations including server-side tracking, attribution, and marketing automation tooling for end-to-end measurement architecture. • Identify and lead initiatives that elevate how the entire Product department functions, from experimentation rigour and data practices to how PMs work with engineering and design. • Line manage, mentor, and develop product managers across your squads, taking an active role in coaching and development across the broader PM and Runna team. • Play a hands-on role in hiring, making strong talent decisions and raising the bar in interviews.

About Runna

📊 Runna at a glance

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

Runna is one of the most exciting fitness startups in the UK right now, and the Strava acquisition only makes the opportunity bigger. In under four years from launch, Dom and Ben built Runna from a website selling personalised PDF training plans to a globally rated running coaching app, a finalist for Apple's iPhone App of the Year, and ultimately an acquisition by the world's largest fitness community. The team has grown to over 150 people across London and Boston, and Strava has publicly committed to investing further in growing both the team and the product. What stands out on Glassdoor (4.9/5 from 31 reviews, with 100% of employees recommending it) is how consistently people praise the culture, the kindness of their colleagues, and the quality of the leadership. Benefits are genuinely strong for a company this size: private health insurance, enhanced parental leave (up to 20 weeks fully paid), Strava equity, a smartwatch as you pass probation, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a paid hour each week to go for a run during work hours. They operate a flexi-hybrid model, typically three days a week in their Vauxhall office. The team runs bi-weekly together, and Workout Wednesdays include exercise plus a free lunch. The main thing to be aware of is that this is a fast-paced startup environment where priorities can shift quickly, which some reviewers flag as a challenge. There is also a slight bias toward hiring passionate runners, though this has been improving. If you want to work on a product that helped millions of runners train, alongside kind and ambitious people, with the backing and scale of Strava behind you, Runna is a brilliant opportunity.

😃 What Runna offers

• Earn a salary of £145,000–£155,000 plus participation in Strava's long-term incentive stock programmes. • Work flexibly with 3 days a week together in the Vauxhall office. • Get 25 days holiday plus bank holidays which you can take whenever suits you. • Receive free Runna and Strava subscriptions for you and 3 friends. • Access private health insurance with Bupa and workplace pension scheme. • Get a Headspace membership and Modern Health mental wellness platform. • Access Carrot fertility support. • Receive money every year to spend on gear, events, and the gym.

💖 What makes Runna unique

Runna helps everyday runners become outstanding by building an incredible app providing world-class training, coaching, and community for everyone. In 2024, Runna was selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the iPhone app of the year. In 2025, Runna was acquired by Strava. The ambition is to become the go-to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere.

💬 What employees say

"The founders are inspiring and genuinely supportive. The culture is healthy, collaborative and free of politics; everyone is moving in the same direction. It is fast-paced in the best way: no bureaucracy, no getting stuck, just constant forward momentum. The people are ambitious, kind and love to learn. Workout Wednesdays, where the whole team exercises together and then has a free lunch, should be mandatory for all companies! This place does not give me Sunday blues. I am genuinely excited to come in on a Monday morning."
