• Lead Paddle's flagship Checkout experience, the most strategically critical, highest-visibility product surface where every dollar customers earn flows through, handling approximately 10 million sessions a month and processing $180M+ in monthly payments.
• Own the Checkout product end-to-end covering its strategy, roadmap, performance, and commercial outcomes as the senior product voice in the room with the executive team, engineering leaders, and largest customers.
• Take on the toughest product role at Paddle with hard technical problems, real commercial stakes, and the platform to influence company strategy.
📋 Job Requirements
• Be used to owning a high-stakes, high-complexity product end-to-end with clear, measurable business impact, or be a senior PM unambiguously operating beyond your title.
• Have specific, hands-on experience with payments, checkout, or comparable consumer-facing fintech experiences at scale, understanding auth rates, 3DS, SCA, PSP economics, and fraud tradeoffs.
• Have worked on high-volume, consumer-facing products where small UX or technical changes have outsized commercial impact and be able to talk through specific wins you have owned.
• Be technically credible, comfortable in the details with engineers, able to reason about systems, APIs, and tradeoffs without needing them to translate.
• Be data-fluent and metrics-led, able to run your own analysis end-to-end without waiting for an analyst.
• Use AI as a daily force multiplier for research, writing, analysis, and building functional prototypes, with specific examples of how it has changed the quality and speed of your output.
• Have built and shipped in scale-up or startup environments including zero-to-one work, being at home with ambiguity.
• Be an outstanding written and verbal communicator where your writing changes minds.
• Be comfortable managing hard tradeoffs across customers, Sales, Engineering, Compliance, and Exco while staying constructive when the room is tense.
• Value regular, in-person collaboration with your team and wider stakeholders.
🌟 Nice-to-have
• Have experience coaching other PMs on discovery and prioritisation best practices.
• Have experience running continuous optimisation programmes including A/B tests, beta programmes, and usability research on high-volume consumer-facing surfaces.
• Have experience overseeing GTM for product launches across multiple customer segments and geographies.
• Have experience shaping pricing, risk policy, or settlement strategy through product data insights.
🎯 Responsibilities
• Own the long-term vision and strategy for Checkout grounded in market trends, payments innovation, customer needs, and Paddle's commercial goals, translating this into a roadmap defensible at Exco and to customers.
• Make and stand behind tough prioritisation calls, navigating ambiguous multi-stakeholder tradeoffs requiring deep judgement across technical constraints, commercial impact, compliance, and UX.
• Set the bar for discovery and prioritisation across the wider Payments group and coach other PMs on how to do this well.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-faceted initiatives without needing oversight, defining and enforcing the delivery standards the rest of the product team operates against.
• Work in a tight trio with engineering and design to ship fast, instrument well, and iterate based on real customer signal.
• Run a continuous programme of optimisation through A/B tests, beta programmes, and usability research to compound conversion and UX gains.
• Own the KPIs that matter for Checkout including conversion, authorisation rates, revenue impact, and NPS, weaving them into the strategic narrative for the business.
• Align senior stakeholders including Exco, Sales leadership, and key customers around the Checkout strategy.
• Oversee GTM for Checkout launches across multiple customer segments and geographies.
• Shape the customer-centric culture of the team, consistently being in front of customers yourself.
