Senior Software Engineer – Go

• Join Paddle, the Merchant of Record that removes payment fragmentation for software companies, in a full-time remote role. • Build the payments and billing systems behind a financially critical platform processing hundreds of millions of dollars a month. • Take initiative within a small team, from initial concept and scoping through rollout and ongoing ownership. • Solve problems rather than just writing code. • Collaborate with Data, InfoSec, Platform, Risk, Finance and other product teams. • Work alongside engineers, designers, analysts and legal and finance experts.

• Bring a development background with Go. • Show experience designing and building systems that handle high traffic at scale in AWS. • Bring a strong understanding of API principles and best practices. • Understand the full development process from design through deployment and maintenance. • Find ways proactively to improve the code and team processes. • Enjoy collaborating with technical and non-technical departments. • Demonstrate a bias for action and strong customer focus. • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Handle complex problems and ambiguity while balancing progress against perfection. • Be based in the UK, Ireland or Portugal.

• Bring experience with payments, billing or other financially critical systems. • Show experience mentoring engineers and leading technical planning. • Bring experience investigating production issues alongside support teams. • Show experience architecting for growing transaction volumes.

• Design, build and maintain high-throughput, highly reliable systems powering core Paddle capabilities. • Lead the implementation of key features from concept and planning through to monitoring and improvement. • Architect solutions that scale with growing transaction volumes and customers. • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and set a high bar for engineering standards. • Lead design discussions and architecture decisions, balancing delivery against long-term sustainability. • Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions with Product, Design, Data, Risk and Operations. • Shape product direction with technical insight, trade-offs and delivery estimates. • Partner with Customer Support and Operations to investigate and resolve production issues. • Mentor other engineers and lead technical planning for team initiatives. • Drive best practices across the wider engineering community.
