Platform Engineer

Posted on 4 August 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Omnea's platform team as a hands-on Platform Engineer at Senior (L3) or Staff (L4) level, owning the infrastructure, tooling, and developer experience that underpins a platform deploying multiple times a day to enterprise customers. • Scale AWS serverless infrastructure for 10x growth, multi-region HA, and data residency requirements. • Make every product engineer more effective by improving CI/CD, strengthening observability, and removing friction from the development workflow.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring platform engineering experience in high-growth, cloud-native SaaS environments, typically 5+ years though impact matters more than years. • Design reliable infrastructure and write clean production code in TypeScript or similar. • Hold deep knowledge of AWS including Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, IAM, and networking, or equivalent cloud-native experience with a strong understanding of serverless trade-offs. • Have built and maintained CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and developer tooling at scale. • Think developer-first, treating engineers as your customers by automating toil, improving feedback loops, and making other people productive. • Iterate quickly, ship pragmatically, and automate everything with a bias for action.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring experience with Pulumi or similar infrastructure-as-code frameworks. • Have hands-on Datadog experience for monitoring, alerting, and debugging. • Hold experience building internal developer platforms or tools adopted organisation-wide. • Show open-source contributions to infrastructure or developer tooling projects. • Have experience scaling serverless architectures for multi-region high availability and data residency. • Bring familiarity with GitHub Actions for deployment pipelines.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Design and evolve AWS serverless architecture including Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora, and EventBridge for 10x growth, multi-region HA, and data residency requirements. • Build and improve deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, infrastructure-as-code with Pulumi, and release tooling so product teams ship faster and safer. • Build out monitoring, alerting, and debugging across the stack using Datadog to catch issues before customers do. • Build internal tooling, automate toil, and remove friction so engineers spend more time shipping product. • Contribute production-ready TypeScript across infrastructure and product features, raising the bar through solid patterns, libraries, and reviews. • Own problems end-to-end from brainstorming through to production in close partnership with product engineers and engineering leadership.

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

Omnea is one of the most exciting B2B SaaS companies in Europe right now. In just three years since its founding, it has raised over $75 million from world-class investors, grown revenue 5x in the past year alone, and more than tripled its headcount to 160+ people across London and New York. The company is now the 4th fastest-growing startup in Europe and has 10x'd ARR to double-digit millions in 18 months. What stands out on Glassdoor (4.8/5 from 17 reviews, 100% recommend) is how consistently employees praise the talent density, the pace of learning, and the calibre of colleagues. People describe working alongside ex-founders, former operators from Google, Meta, TikTok, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and top startups like Tessian, Pigment, and Pleo. Omnea's careers page states they interviewed more than 10,000 people for their first 50 hires, and the hiring bar remains exceptionally high. The company works in person three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) in London and New York, which is not for everyone, but reflects their belief that early-stage collaboration benefits from face-to-face time. Equity is structured so every employee has a meaningful stake, and the Senior Software Engineer listing shows salary ranges of £80K–£120K with £25K–£50K in equity. The main thing to be aware of is that this is a genuinely fast-paced environment: multiple Glassdoor reviews note that this is not a 9-to-5, though they add that working alongside exceptional people on a mission that matters makes it worth it. If you want to be part of a category-defining company at one of the most exciting stages of its growth, surrounded by some of the strongest talent in European tech, Omnea is hard to beat.

😃 What Omnea offers
