💼 What you will do

• Join Monzo’s Tax team as Operational Tax Senior Manager, reporting to the Tax Governance Lead. • Lead on all taxes that affect customers and their tax reporting across the UK and Europe. • Make it as easy as possible for customers to meet their tax obligations. • Embed tax into product design as Monzo launches new products and enters new markets. • Own a key area of Monzo’s tax strategy and work with teams across the business. • Earn £94,700–£111,400 plus incentives, working remotely from anywhere in the UK.

📋 Job Requirements

• Be a qualified accountant or tax adviser, or qualified through significant experience. • Bring significant in-house experience in operational tax. • Work comfortably with a high degree of autonomy. • Take a hands-on, energetic approach to getting things done. • Pay close attention to detail and work methodically through processes. • Be based in the UK and visit the London office occasionally.

• Bring experience with EU operational tax requirements. • Show experience in banking, fintech or financial services tax. • Bring experience building tax reporting into new products. • Show experience implementing FATCA and CRS reporting systems.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Act as Monzo’s subject matter expert on operational tax. • Own operational tax processes and controls, including BBSI, ISA reporting, FATCA, CRS and CT61s. • Build new processes and controls as products and markets evolve. • Embed tax into product design with Product and local market teams from the start. • Track UK and EU tax law, regulation and case law and turn changes into clear actions. • Work with Product, Financial Crime, Engineering, Legal and Finance on business initiatives.
