About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Monzo’s second-line Credit Risk Oversight team as a Credit Risk Oversight Manager. • Provide independent support and challenge to Borrowing teams to help Monzo grow safely. • Analyse data to assure credit risk management across the full lending lifecycle. • Help shape new lending products and pilots while keeping within Risk Appetite. • Explore how AI tools can improve credit and risk management. • Earn £79,900–£95,000 plus incentives, working remotely from anywhere in the UK.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring a strong background in credit risk management for consumer or small business lending. • Use analytical skills to interrogate data, build monitoring and spot early trends. • Understand how credit risk scorecards and NPV models shape credit decision strategies. • Write SQL or a similar language confidently. • Feel excited to use AI tools in credit and risk processes. • Explain complex issues clearly and simply to non-experts. • Build trusting relationships while giving effective, respectful challenge. • Be based in the UK.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring experience with unsecured products such as credit cards, loans or overdrafts. • Use data visualisation tools such as Looker, Power BI or Tableau. • Show experience of how credit portfolios perform across different stages of the credit cycle. • Bring experience supporting stress testing or credit forecasting.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Oversee credit risk by analysing lending product performance and improving monitoring metrics. • Provide input to relevant committees and forums. • Support credit strategy changes, including new product launches and pilots. • Deliver data-driven insight, challenge and counter-proposals on credit strategies. • Lead second-line assurance work on thematic reviews. • Work with model validation and development teams to understand the models behind credit strategies. • Contribute credit expertise to stress testing, forecasting and strategic projects. • Help maintain and embed the Credit Risk Framework across Monzo.
