• Bring a strong academic record and a research master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics or econometrics. • Show experience applying quantitative methods or machine learning to a practical problem through study, research, a personal project or work. • Explain how your approach fits the problem rather than relying on theory alone. • Communicate your rationale and findings clearly and keep colleagues informed of progress. • Follow through on agreed actions and take ownership of your work. • Seek feedback and build towards working independently.

• Have industry experience such as a placement, internship or work during your studies. • Show experience gained between a research master's and a PhD. • Bring a keen interest in the commercial context of insurance pricing.

• Work closely with pricing colleagues on scoped analytical and data-driven projects. • Take on more responsibility as your experience develops. • Apply mathematical, statistical and machine learning techniques to practical pricing questions. • Connect your analysis to the decision it needs to inform. • Explain your findings clearly to colleagues from different areas of the business. • Keep colleagues updated on progress and follow up on agreed actions. • Use feedback to improve your work and your coding best practice.
