Marketing Manager, Growth

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Help Kagi grow the way it actually grows: people try it, feel the difference, and tell other people. Marketing's job is to make that loop faster and wider. • Work without the usual playbook, since Kagi doesn't buy ads, doesn't track users across the web to retarget them, and has no growth team chasing vanity metrics. • Get the right people to try Kagi, help them understand why it's worth paying for, and keep them around. • Take on a generalist growth role spanning content, user lifecycle, analytics, and social media. • Have real autonomy and real ownership, making bets with product-adjacent growth experiments and pulling whichever lever matters most that week yourself. • Work remotely from anywhere.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have 4+ years in a growth, performance, or full-funnel marketing role at a subscription or SaaS product, with real ownership of outcomes. • Show demonstrated ability to operate across content, analytics, and lifecycle or email marketing without a large team behind you. • Write strongly, producing clear, persuasive copy yourself rather than briefing someone else to do it. • Have run and analysed growth experiments such as A/B tests, lifecycle campaigns, and landing page iterations, knowing when to kill an experiment versus scale it. • Stay comfortable with ambiguity, turning "conversion is too low" into a concrete plan without much hand-holding. • Bring genuine interest in privacy-respecting products, since you will need to grow Kagi without the ad-tracking playbook most growth marketers default to.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have marketed a paid product competing against free alternatives. • Have built onboarding, activation, or win-back sequences from scratch. • Have worked closely with product and design on pricing pages and in-product conversion moments. • Have grown a product through word of mouth and community rather than paid acquisition.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own the user acquisition and conversion funnel end to end, from how people first hear about Kagi through to converting a trial into a paid subscriber. • Write and ship blog posts, landing pages, comparison pages, and email campaigns that explain why Kagi is worth paying for in a market full of free alternatives. • Build and improve lifecycle marketing, covering onboarding sequences, activation nudges, win-back campaigns, and renewal and retention messaging. • Dig into analytics yourself, tracking funnel performance, finding drop-off points, and turning data into a prioritised list of experiments. • Run growth experiments end to end, from hypothesis through build, measure, and iterate, without a dedicated analytics or engineering team to lean on. • Partner with product and design to influence onboarding flows, pricing pages, and in-product moments that affect conversion and retention. • Represent the user's voice in growth decisions, consistent with Kagi's position as a privacy-respecting, user-funded product.
