About the role

💼 What you will do

• Deliver critical, strategic programmes within a technical and product domain at Engine. • Combine technical understanding with complex strategic coordination in a multi-client environment. • Support product consultants, engineering leads, and account managers with planning and commitment setting as Engine scales internationally. • Report directly into Engineering while working closely with Engine’s Engineering and Product teams. • Engage with external payment schemes and technology providers alongside internal stakeholders. • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of complex projects across different areas of the business. • Grow into wider programme management of interwoven engineering and product deliveries. • Work hybrid, within commutable distance of London.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring end-to-end project or programme management experience, ideally within technology or financial services. • Bring proven experience working directly with Engineering and Product teams to deliver complex technical solutions. • Bring experience in the software-as-a-service sector. • Take a hands-on, adaptable approach to programme delivery in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift. • Communicate excellently in writing and in person, including on complex technical topics. • Bring strong interpersonal skills and creative problem solving to navigate ambiguity and technical hurdles. • Bring the technical skills to talk credibly with Product and Engineering teams. • Live within commutable distance of London.

• Bring strong experience working on cards projects, which is highly desirable. • Bring experience with Java microservices, Kubernetes on EKS, AWS, and GCP. • Bring familiarity with TeamCity CI/CD, Terraform, and Grafana. • Bring experience managing vendor and payment scheme relationships. • Bring experience balancing competing client needs against internal delivery capacity. • Apply even if you do not tick every box, as Engine encourages people to get in touch anyway.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate a technical programme covering a portfolio of complex, inter-dependent projects. • Serve as the key bridge between Engineering, clients, and delivery partners. • Work with Engineering Leads to support the software development lifecycle, understanding dependencies and complexities. • Collaborate across multiple teams to coordinate work and effort, supporting Product and Engineering to produce an achievable plan. • Work with Product Leads to keep a real-time view of competing client needs against internal capacity. • Identify risks of over-commitment proactively so delivery timelines stay realistic. • Own relationships with external parties including vendors and payment schemes, holding them accountable where they are critical to delivery. • Provide key reporting and metrics on delivery progress against plans. • Monitor processes continually and implement improvements.
