Senior UI Engineer - Objective-C/C++ (iOS/macOS) - Affinity

• Build high-performance, elegant UIs in C++ and Objective-C for the Affinity product suite — Canva's professional creative software for photo editing, vector design, and layout. • Work on UI that feels native to macOS and iOS across mouse, touch, and stylus input. • Join a close-knit team of passionate engineers, designers, and product experts redefining how professionals and enthusiasts approach creative work. • Work from Canva's London campus in Hoxton Square, Shoreditch, with choice in where and how you work.

• Have several years of experience in Objective-C and C++. • Bring hands-on iOS or macOS development experience with strong knowledge of Xcode. • Demonstrate a proven ability to build high-quality, maintainable applications. • Possess strong GUI development skills for Mac and iOS with a focus on usability and performance. • Have a solid foundation in object-oriented design and design patterns. • Show high attention to detail and take pride in writing clean, reliable code. • Communicate clearly and enjoy learning, collaborating, and solving complex problems.

• Have experience with vector, DTP, or imaging applications. • Bring experience contributing to architectural decisions across shared libraries and components. • Have expertise in optimising code for responsiveness, memory usage, and performance on Apple platforms. • Be familiar with Apple's evolving frameworks such as SwiftUI, Metal, or Core Animation. • Have prior experience working on professional-grade creative software used by designers, photographers, or publishers.
