Senior Software Engineer (Java/Spring/AWS)

• Work within the Billing & Payments tribe as a Senior Software Engineer, extending and maintaining an Affiliate Marketing platform that handles how customers are billed and partners get paid. • Design and build reliable services using Java/Spring, AWS, Kafka, and event-driven architectures as the team moves towards a cloud-first architecture. • Enjoy a four-day Flexi-Week at full pay with no reduction to annual holiday allowance, hiring across Amsterdam, Iași, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, and Warsaw.

• Bring 6+ years of professional software engineering experience. • Hold a strong foundation in OOP and comfort working with multiple programming languages, ideally including Java/Spring. • Have hands-on experience designing AWS-based systems, microservices with REST APIs, and event-driven architectures. • Focus on engineering quality through code reviews, testing, and test strategy improvement. • Maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable, automated software delivery. • Demonstrate a solid understanding of relational databases, data modelling, and SQL. • Show proven collaboration in cross-functional teams with Product, UX, and Agile roles. • Have extensive exposure to agile processes, particularly Scrum.

• Bring experience with financial or billing-related systems. • Have basic experience building Node.js services using JavaScript or TypeScript. • Show familiarity with non-relational databases like DynamoDB or MongoDB. • Hold basic knowledge of web technologies and modern frontend frameworks, ideally Angular. • Demonstrate interest in and practical use of AI tools to augment software development. • Have experience mentoring engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

• Work within a small, collaborative team using agile methodologies and practices. • Take ownership of applications across the full lifecycle from design and implementation to operation. • Proactively identify improvement opportunities and technical risks, helping shape technical direction. • Solve real business problems by translating requirements into scalable technical solutions. • Support an effective agile way of working by helping facilitate team ceremonies and workshops. • Mentor engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day collaboration. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring service reliability and operational stability. • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with local and remote colleagues and stakeholders.
