About the role

💼 What you will do

• Support Atlassian's commercial business in the United Kingdom and Ireland as a senior commercial transactions attorney, with flexibility to cover other EMEA countries. • Work with the sales team, internal business partners, and other Legal team members to review and respond to requests from current and prospective customers. • Grow your hands-on experience drafting and negotiating a variety of customer and partner agreements while performing matrix management across cross-functional teams. • Report directly to the Senior Director, Head of Commercial Legal EMEA Region, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across EMEA and globally.

📋 Job Requirements

• Be a UK-qualified solicitor or barrister with a UK law degree (LLB) or UK conversion course (GDL) and 8+ years PQE, ideally having completed a formal training contract at a recognised UK law firm. • Bring strong experience handling B2B contract negotiations with solid commercial, tech, and business acumen. • Communicate fluently in English. • Have experience in the cloud space and tech contracting. • Take ownership of tasks and accomplish them while seeking appropriate support. • Bring empathy and understanding to conversations with customers and clients, balancing company risk and customer needs. • Negotiate and close deals in a collaborative, non-rigid spirit. • Work comfortably in a remote setting, autonomously and within a multicultural team. • Think creatively beyond the legal box to offer practical solutions for the business. • Have good knowledge of privacy matters, including GDPR. • Show curiosity about AI, AI tooling, and the legal aspects of AI product features.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Hold additional legal qualifications in other EMEA jurisdictions. • Bring knowledge or experience in other legal areas beyond commercial transactions. • Have experience with public sector customers (public procurement) and financial institutions (FSI regulations). • Speak additional languages beyond English.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Negotiate enterprise cloud and licence agreements for Atlassian's products and services, including master services agreements. • Partner with sales, deal desk, partner and alliances, privacy, risk and compliance, security, finance, accounting, and product teams to facilitate contract reviews and internal process improvements. • Provide pragmatic, business-minded guidance on contract-related issues. • Develop support materials and deliver training to educate direct sales and channel teams on contract terms and other legal issues. • Build trusted relationships with sales colleagues in the region, staying curious about business priorities and proactively suggesting solutions. • Advise business and corporate functions in the region in close collaboration with specialist teams in the US and EMEA. • Contribute to projects that improve contract processes and sales enablement. • Support the development and enhancement of customer-facing contract forms.
