Litigation Counsel

• Join the team responsible for managing Cloudflare’s litigation matters around the world. • Confront novel legal issues in a fast-paced environment without losing sight of Cloudflare’s core principles. • Work with the internal legal team, external counsel, and stakeholders across the company to handle ongoing lawsuits and respond to litigation threats. • Contribute to broader legal strategy as Cloudflare’s role as an internet infrastructure provider draws litigation and regulation. • Navigate a diverse set of global legal issues spanning intellectual property, contracts and business disputes, regulatory matters, and labour and employment. • Take on complex cases relating to customer content on the network, known as intermediary liability, where technical and legal issues intertwine. • Help scale the litigation function alongside a fast growing company. • Work from London on a hybrid basis, with the role also open in Washington DC.

• Be admitted to practice law in the US or the UK. • Bring 4+ years PQE in a law firm or in-house. • Bring experience litigating cases in one or more jurisdictions. • Communicate strongly and work as a cooperative team player. • Lead with empathy and understanding while embracing diverse points of view. • Adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Work cross-functionally with lawyers and non-lawyers to reach principled, thoughtful solutions efficiently and amenably. • Organise, prioritise, and manage many tasks across complex projects. • Work independently and autonomously with limited guidance, while using good judgment to escalate when needed.

• Bring in-house experience with technology companies specifically, which is preferred. • Bring a strong interest in navigating challenging technical and legal issues together. • Bring curiosity to dive deep into evolving technology and internet law. • Bring experience of intermediary liability or platform content litigation. • Bring experience working with government regulators and private organisations. • Keep pace with a fast moving docket and take the initiative to scale processes around it.

• Work with the existing litigation team to formulate and implement litigation strategies. • Evaluate and respond to litigation threats and legal matters across jurisdictions worldwide. • Select, onboard, and manage outside counsel across factual development, briefing, hearings, trials, and appeals. • Work cross-functionally to develop Cloudflare’s approach to intermediary liability, AI, and other emerging legal and technology issues globally. • Assist in responding to and working with government regulators and private organisations on issues relating to Cloudflare’s products and services. • Communicate with business leaders across the company about ongoing litigation and litigation threats. • Provide training and resources that address future legal risks.
