EMEA Field CTO, Engineering Executive Advisor

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join DX, the developer productivity platform recently acquired by Atlassian, as its EMEA Field CTO. • Act as DX’s primary strategist, storyteller and technical expert across the EMEA market. • Turn DX research into executive workshops, coaching, narratives and product demos that win business. • Advise VP, CTO and Director-level engineering leaders on developer productivity and AI measurement. • Carry direct commercial accountability for a portfolio of 15+ named EMEA accounts. • Work remotely from the UK, Germany or France, travelling 30–40% of the time across EMEA.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring experience leading engineering, platform or developer experience organisations at scale, for example as a VP of Engineering or Head of Platform. • Show a track record of making real decisions on developer productivity, tooling and team design. • Be known and respected by senior engineering leaders, including CTOs at Fortune 500 companies. • Bring a portfolio of conference talks, panels, podcasts or media appearances. • Read datasets and research, then turn them into guidance a busy CTO would act on. • Write and communicate clearly and persuasively. • Hold strong opinions on running engineering organisations and update them when the evidence changes. • Have a deep passion for productivity first principles, systems thinking and continuous improvement. • Speak English fluently. • Travel 30–40% of the time across EMEA for conferences, accounts and events.

• Speak German, French or a Nordic language. • Bring an existing network of podcast hosts and conference organisers across EMEA. • Have established relationships with enterprise engineering leaders in Western Europe, the UK or the Nordics. • Bring experience supporting enterprise sales conversations at executive level. • Show hands-on experience measuring AI adoption and ROI in engineering teams.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own 15+ named EMEA accounts per half, co-selected with DX sales. • Advance deals through executive 1:1s, briefings, presentations and workshops alongside account executives. • Host 2–4 roundtable dinners, panels or VIP events per quarter for VP and CTO-level leaders. • Deliver 1–2 internal enablement sessions per quarter to help EMEA reps engage executives. • Join Atlassian’s executive briefing council when called on by the strategic accounts team. • Surface customer blockers, feature gaps and competitive intelligence to the product team. • Contribute to a quarterly Field CTO voice-of-customer report. • Maintain deep product demo fluency, linking DX research to current capabilities and the roadmap. • Represent DX in conversations with journalists, podcast hosts and analysts. • Appear on 2+ external podcasts per quarter and speak at 6+ EMEA conferences a year. • Host at least one webinar per quarter on developer productivity, AI ROI and human-agent effectiveness. • Produce 3 small research pieces per quarter, or lead-author one large piece, aligned to the research roadmap.
