Senior Platform Engineer - Developer Experience

• Help make software development at 9fin faster, simpler, and safer in a software engineering role focused on the tools, systems, and paved roads that other engineers use. • Work across the software development lifecycle from creating a new service through to testing, deployment, observability, and operating it in production. • Join an established Platform team with the autonomy to solve problems that help engineers build products quickly, securely, and to a high standard of quality.

• Be a strong software engineer with experience designing, building, testing, and operating production software. • Be proficient in at least one modern programming language, with strong engineering fundamentals valued over a particular language. • Understand the software development lifecycle and have practical experience improving how software is built, tested, deployed, or operated. • Have strong opinions about what makes software development effective while remaining pragmatic about different teams and contexts. • Be able to design maintainable systems and make sensible tradeoffs between speed, quality, and complexity. • Have experience with CI/CD, containers, and cloud infrastructure. • Enjoy building tools and platforms for other engineers. • Take a product approach to internal tooling, understanding user needs, validating solutions, and measuring adoption. • Be able to independently own a problem from discovery through to delivery and adoption. • Communicate clearly through code, documentation, and technical discussions. • Have a real appetite for learning and self-improvement.

• Have experience with AWS and infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform. • Have experience building internal developer platforms, developer portals, CLIs, or service templates. • Have experience with observability using tools such as OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or SigNoz. • Have experience with reliability engineering, incident response, or production operations. • Have experience in fintech or another regulated environment.

• Build and maintain internal tools, services, APIs, and command-line applications. • Improve workflows across coding, testing, code review, deployment, and production operations. • Create service templates and paved roads that make it easier to build secure, observable, and reliable software. • Improve the speed, reliability, and usability of CI/CD systems. • Develop reusable platform capabilities that product engineers can consume through self-service. • Help engineers use observability effectively with good defaults for logs, metrics, traces, and service-level indicators. • Work directly with engineers to understand friction, test ideas, and support adoption. • Use feedback and workflow data to measure whether changes have improved the developer experience. • Contribute production-quality code, tests, documentation, and operational support.
