Senior Compliance Manager (1st Line of Defence)

• Bring strong knowledge of the FCA Handbook and principles-led regulation in the consumer credit space. • Show strong proficiency in COBS, BCOBS, CONC and SYSC. • Demonstrate a proven track record in compliance, conduct and regulatory risk within financial services. • Understand Consumer Duty and how it underpins regulatory guidance. • Bring experience leading the design and execution of compliance-led reviews. • Lead stakeholders to identify risks, support change and improve existing practices. • Apply the risk framework pragmatically to deliver good outcomes for customers and the business. • Communicate issues clearly, flagging trade-offs and solutions that balance business goals with compliance. • Act as a trusted point of contact for first and second line teams. • Guide first line teams through comprehensive risk assessments and promote a risk-aware culture. • Commute to the London office 2–3 days a week.

• Bring experience with DISP. • Show experience supporting a lending business within financial services. • Bring experience reviewing financial promotions and customer communications. • Show experience advising operational teams such as collections or customer care.

• Report into senior risk leadership and keep the business within risk appetite through proportionate controls. • Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, digestible language for stakeholders. • Provide expert regulatory advice across products, customer journeys, operational processes and new initiatives. • Review financial promotions and customer communications, and streamline the review process. • Act as the compliance subject matter expert on business projects. • Represent compliance at relevant business committees and forums. • Define smart, sustainable and holistic solutions that strengthen the risk environment. • Drive education and awareness of compliance, conduct and regulatory risk across the business.
