Senior Engineering Lead - Group Finance Systems

• Join the Finance Tribe at a pivotal stage of Wise’s growth, following its move from a primary LSE listing to Nasdaq. • Lead the engineering team behind Wise’s Finance Systems estate, the platforms Group Finance runs company financial operations on. • Take on a transformation role spanning the next two to three years. • Partner with the Product and CFO organisations to modernise the ERP and surrounding finance tooling. • Stand up the engineering foundations for SOX as a newly US-listed company. • Shape what AI-native finance operations look like at Wise, treating this as a chance to redefine finance tooling in the AI era. • Work from London on a hybrid basis.

• Bring 12+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years leading engineering teams in finance, fintech, or another regulated or audited domain. • Bring deep experience with Tier 1 ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday Financials, or NetSuite at enterprise scale. • Have led the engineering side of at least one migration, consolidation, or major modernisation programme. • Bring SOX or equivalent control-environment experience, having built engineering practices that hold up to external audit rather than simply complying with them. • Work comfortably across vendor configuration, custom extensions, integration middleware, and event-driven patterns. • Judge when to buy, when to build, and when to wrap. • Partner transparently at CFO level with Finance Business Process leads, explaining complex trade-offs and landing organisational alignment. • Ship in increments without losing sight of the destination.

• Bring first-hand experience of taking a company through SOX readiness after a listing. • Bring a fintech, payments, or banking background. • Hold a public point of view on AI in the finance back-office, covering what works and what is hype. • Apply for just one Wise role, the one you are most excited about, as duplicate applications requiring the same assessment are automatically closed.

• Set the architecture and multi-year roadmap for the ERP and surrounding finance platforms. • Lead, hire, and grow a senior engineering team. • Set the bar for engineering quality in a domain where correctness, auditability, and resilience are non-negotiable. • Build the tooling, controls, and change-management practices that make SOX compliance a property of how Wise engineers. • Drive deployment frequency, observability, incident response, and change control to a standard fit for systems the CFO signs off on. • Co-own the roadmap with Finance and Product, translating priorities such as close acceleration, intercompany, AP/AR, and statutory reporting into a credible engineering plan. • Drive efficiencies through AI-assisted finance operational tooling, deciding where automation pays off and where it does not. • Make the right tooling choices and integration decisions across the estate.
