Software Engineer – Auth

• Join Supabase, the Postgres development platform built by developers for developers, in a full-time fully remote role. • Build new and maintain existing features in Auth, one of the most popular products in the Supabase stack. • Work in Go on the server and TypeScript across client libraries for SSR and other frameworks. • Own the performance, reliability and scalability of the Auth server across Supabase’s infrastructure. • Shape the evolution of the Auth architecture, including OAuth, OIDC and SAML support. • Support the community on GitHub, Discord and other channels.

• Bring 4+ years of professional experience writing and shipping Go in production. • Bring 2+ years of professional experience working on an authentication system. • Show strong relational database experience with Postgres or MySQL. • Bring strong knowledge of TypeScript alongside Go. • Understand web fundamentals such as cookies, sessions, JWT, HTTP and browser APIs. • Bring deep interest in authentication security, including OAuth, OIDC, SAML and cryptography fundamentals. • Show experience with SSR frameworks such as Next.js and traditional frameworks such as Rails, Django or Laravel. • Write clearly, since the RFC process is central to changing the Auth product. • Bring hands-on experience building and operating services at significant scale. • Understand memory management, concurrency patterns and compute optimisation in Go. • Bring production experience with Kubernetes and AWS or a comparable cloud platform. • Apply solid observability practices using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry. • Manage database schema migrations safely at scale.

• Bring Postgres experience specifically, rather than another relational database. • Show experience implementing authentication protocol support from scratch. • Bring experience running safe migrations across a large fleet of database instances. • Show experience contributing to open-source projects or supporting a developer community.

• Design and implement secure, scalable authentication features in Go and TypeScript. • Work across the stack, from server-side protocols to client libraries for frameworks like Next.js. • Own the performance, reliability and scalability of the Auth server. • Contribute to the Auth architecture, including support for OAuth, OIDC, SAML and other protocols. • Plan and execute safe database migrations across a large fleet of Postgres instances. • Build and improve observability through metrics, tracing, alerting and dashboards. • Write and review RFCs as part of the product development process. • Collaborate with engineers across Supabase for a seamless developer experience. • Respond to developer feedback on GitHub, Discord and other channels.
